**Salary Range:** $57,000 - $79,000 per year


**Job Overview:**

As an Environmental Consultant at Flowra, you will have the opportunity to work with governmental and private clients, including those in the cannabis industry, to ensure environmental compliance. You will be responsible for preparing reports and permit applications that align with Federal, State, and Local environmental regulations.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

·      Conduct analysis of project impacts to natural resources, primarily terrestrial wildlife, aquatics, plants, and water

·      Prepare and submit permit applications and other required documents to state and federal agencies including the State Water Resources Control Board, California Department of Fish and Wildlife, County Planning Departments, CalFire, and the US Forest Service. Some common documents include: Lake and Streambed Alternation Agreements, Site Management Plans, Biological Resource Assessments, Biological Assessments (federal), tiered CEQA documents.

·      Field Data Collection and Mapping

·      Coordinate work with Flowra Account Managers and clients. Clients are often non-native English speakers and economically and socially disadvantaged.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)

·      Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, biology, or related field

·      Two years of experience in the field of environmental analysis

·      Ability to read and interpret documents and write permit applications, reports and correspondence

·      Ability to communicate verbally and in writing, effectively and professionally with staff and clients

·      Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form

·      Ability to use personal computer and standard office applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe

·      Ability to use project management software to manage daily tasks and overall client projects

·      Ability to conduct field work in remote locations

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

·      Four years of experience in the field of environmental analysis

·      Master’s Degree in the biological sciences or related field

·      Knowledge of the native species of Northern California and their habitats

·      Knowledge of CEQA and/or NEPA

·      Demonstrated ability to produce peer-reviewed papers or articles for the popular press

·      Experience with Geographic Information Systems—mapmaking and geospatial analysis

This job will be performed onsite or in a hybrid work environment. Candidate should be present at the work location a minimum of two days per week. More than two days of onsite work in a week would also be required during extended field work. Onsite work will occur primarily at Flowra offices in Weaverville California as well as site visits across Trinity County and Northern California.
