Fleming Support Services is seeking compassionate, dependable, and service-driven individuals to provide Companion Services to elderly clients and individuals with disabilities in the community. This role focuses on social support, supervision, and assistance with daily living activities that promote independence, dignity, and quality of life out in the community. Responsibilities:
The Companion Service Professional provides non-medical support and social engagement to elderly individuals and persons with disabilities in their homes and out in the communities. Responsibilities include offering meaningful companionship and conversation, assisting with light housekeeping and meal preparation, providing medication reminders (without administering medication), running errands and grocery shopping, escorting clients to appointments and community activities, and facilitating recreational and social engagement. The Companion is responsible for monitoring the client’s general safety and well-being, maintaining a clean and organized environment, documenting services accurately, and promoting independence while preserving the dignity and respect of each individual served. All staff are expected to provide hands-on support that is engaging, socially interactive, and creative during community activities. Services must always be delivered using a person-centered approach that respects each individual's preferences, goals, and unique needs. All services are provided in accordance with agency policies, ethical standards, and applicable state regulations.
