Floor Tech Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Floor Tech to join our team and ensure the cleanliness and sanitation of our commercial customers' floors. As a Floor Tech, you will be responsible for maintaining all floor areas to our high standards, removing spots from carpets, performing bonnet and extraction carpet cleaning, and assisting with hazardous waste collection. You will operate various floor cleaning equipment, wear personal protective equipment (PPE), and prioritize the safety of our customers by preventing slip, trip, and fall hazards.


- Clean offices, hallways, common areas, and other designated spaces.

- Safely move furniture before and after cleaning.

- Perform cleaning, dusting, mopping, stripping, and waxing of floors.

- Accurately measure and use chemicals with chemical dispensing units.

- Properly label and store chemicals.

- Clean, maintain, and store equipment and PPE efficiently.

- Keep track of inventory for floor areas and schedule cleaning and maintenance tasks.

- Report any maintenance issues to the supervisor promptly.

- Assist with the hazardous waste collection when requested by the supervisor.


- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred.

- Previous floor maintenance experience is a plus.

- Completion of a drug test is required.

- Completion of on-the-job training will be provided.

- Ability to work in a noisy environment.

- Physically agile and capable of lifting heavy objects (up to 50 pounds; assistance required for anything over 50 pounds).

- Excellent communication skills.

Basic Qualifications:

- Strong listening and verbal communication skills; ability to speak English in some positions.

- Maintain a neat appearance, including wearing a clean and properly worn uniform.

- Attend periodic training and safety meetings.

- Follow instructions and perform work accordingly; use building maps to locate work areas.

- Punctuality is essential.

- Knowledge of floor care duties and responsibilities is required.

- Ability to operate floor care equipment, such as automatic scrubbers, buffers, shampoo machines, extractors, wet vacs, carpet pile lifters, and vacuums.

- Knowledge of proper use and application of floor care products.

- Valid Missouri driver's license with a good driving record.


$17 - $22 per hour
