Floor Tech Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Floor Technician to join our team and ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of our commercial customers' floors. As a Floor Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining all types of flooring to our high standards, including carpet, tile, hardwood, and other designated surfaces. You will perform cleaning, buffing, waxing, and other floor care duties as needed. You will also assist with hazardous waste collection and report any maintenance issues to the supervisor promptly.


- Clean and maintain various types of flooring, including carpet, tile, hardwood, and other designated surfaces.

- Safely move furniture and equipment as needed.

- Perform floor care duties, including buffing, waxing, stripping, and polishing.

- Accurately measure and use chemicals with chemical dispensing units for floor care.

- Properly label and store chemicals used for floor care.

- Clean, maintain, and store floor care equipment efficiently.

- Keep track of inventory for floor care supplies and schedule floor care and maintenance tasks.

- Report any maintenance issues to supervisor promptly.

- Assist with hazardous waste collection when requested by supervisor.


- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred.

- Previous experience as a Floor Technician or in a similar role is a plus.

- Completion of a drug test is required.

- Completion of on-the-job training will be provided.

- Ability to work in a noisy environment.

- Physically agile and capable of lifting heavy objects (up to 50 pounds; assistance required for anything over 50 pounds).

- Excellent communication skills.

Basic Qualifications:

- Strong listening and verbal communication skills; ability to speak English in some positions.

- Maintain a neat appearance, including wearing a clean and properly worn uniform.

- Attend periodic training and safety meetings.

- Follow instructions and perform work accordingly; use floor plans to locate work areas.

- Punctuality is essential.

- Knowledge of floor care duties and responsibilities is required.

- Ability to operate floor care equipment, such as buffers, waxers, and cleaning chemicals.

- Knowledge of proper use and application of floor care products.

- Valid Missouri driver's license with a good driving record.


$15 - $18 per hour
