About Farren

We’re an early-stage, high growth, AI-native startup on a mission to reshape the way people train, move, and feel. We believe fitness is the ultimate unlock for living well—physically, mentally, and emotionally. Backed by proven founders and deeply committed to our mission, we’re building something bold, human, and deeply personal. We’re in stealth for now. But we’re moving fast—and building to last.

Description

At Farren, our coaches bring the programming. Our job is to make sure it shows up in the app exactly the way they intended, and exactly the way an athlete needs it to feel: clear, clean, and impossible to get confused by.

We're hiring a Training Program Quality Assurance Contractor to be the last set of eyes — and the first rep — between a coach's plan and an athlete's workout. You'll take training plans from our Coach Collective (and every new coach who joins), import them into the platform, and hold them to a style guide you'll help sharpen over time. Then you'll test what you built yourself, in our gym, doing the actual workout, before it ever reaches an athlete.

This isn't just data entry. You're the quality bar for what "a Farren session" feels like, and you'll say so — to coaches, to our product team, and to yourself — until it's right. You'll go back and forth as many times as it takes to get a plan from "technically uploaded" to "genuinely great to train through."

What You'll Own

  • Importing training plans from existing and new coaches into the Farren platform, start to finish
  • Building on and iterating our style guide so every plan feels seamless and consistent to the athlete, regardless of which coach wrote it
  • Testing every session yourself — in our gym — before it ships, catching anything that reads clean on paper but trains clumsy in real life
  • The back-and-forth: working directly with coaches and our internal team until a plan translates into a genuinely smooth in-app experience
  • Two numbers: total plans uploaded (your output metric) and session quality, scored by athletes at the end of every training session

What We're Looking For

  • A background as a strength and conditioning coach and/or personal trainer — you've programmed for real athletes, not just read about it
  • Heavy hands-on experience with online training software, on both the coach and athlete side
  • Comfortable training through and navigating S&C software on both desktop and iOS
  • Extremely detailed. You notice the exercise that's tagged wrong, the rest period that doesn't match the cue, the superset that doesn't make sense in-app
  • A taste-maker, not an order-taker — you have a point of view on what "good" looks like and you'll defend it
  • Willing to actually do the workouts in our gym. You can't QA an experience you haven't trained through
  • Based in Boulder, CO and able to work in-office

Engagement Terms

This is a 1099 independent contractor position — not a part-time or full-time employee role. A few things that follow from that:

  • You'll work an expected ~25 hours per week, in-office in Boulder, CO, on a contract basis
  • As an independent contractor, you're responsible for providing your own equipment, including your own computer
  • You control the manner and means of how you get the work done, within Farren's quality bar and deliverables — we're not setting a fixed schedule of hours or supervising day-to-day tasks the way we would for an employee
  • This role does not include employee benefits (health insurance, paid time off, equity, or retirement contributions), and no taxes are withheld from contractor pay — you're responsible for your own tax filings and insurance
  • The engagement is ongoing on an at-will, as-needed basis and can be adjusted or ended by either party
  • This posting and any resulting engagement do not create an employer-employee relationship

How We Work

We work out as a team almost every day and are the principal users of our own product — this role especially. We're in-person in Boulder because the plans you're testing and the coaches you're working with are here, and the fastest way to catch a bad rep count is to do the rep yourself.

We move fast, sweat the details, and course-correct without ego. This is not a role for someone who wants to be handed a checklist. It's a role for someone who wants to set the bar for what a Farren workout should feel like, and hold every plan to it.
