Description

At Farren, our media has to move as fast as the rest of the company. Every reel, exercise demo, and social post has to be produced, edited, and shipped — and we're just getting started setting the pace.

We're hiring an Associate Media Producer to help us create more of it: short-form edits for social, a heavy focus on exercise demo videos, and chances to jump in on bigger projects along the way. You'll work directly with our Founding Media Producer, learning Farren's brand and workflows, then taking on more of the day-to-day editing and production so we can keep pace with how much content this team needs to put out.

This is a contracted production role, not an internship or apprenticeship — you'll be expected to edit, deliver, and ideally shoot alongside our team, and solo on straightforward setups once you know how we work.

What You'll Own

• Editing exercise and demonstration videos at volume — this is the core of the role. Following standardized editing, naming, and export conventions, and tagging files with the correct exercise ID so everything stays easy to find and track down later
• Editing short-form video for Instagram Reels, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts, turning raw footage into polished, publish-ready content
• Organizing footage, project files, exports, and deliverables according to Farren's existing standards — strong attention to detail here matters
• Assisting on shoots when needed — capturing social content, B-roll, interviews, and exercise footage, ideally operating a camera independently once you're up to speed on our brand and gear
• Clear communication on timelines, workload, and project status — you own your queue

What We're Looking For

• Proficiency in Premiere Pro, with general familiarity across the Adobe Creative Suite; experience in CapCut or motion graphics is a strong plus
• Understanding of camera fundamentals — exposure, framing, focus — and comfort operating a camera
• Fast and efficient through high-volume editing work without sacrificing consistency
• Extremely organized — footage, files, and exports don't go missing on your watch
• Comfortable taking direction and then running with it
• Genuine interest in fitness, training, sports, or wellness, with an understanding of specific movements and the industry as a whole — that context matters for creating content that actually lands
• A portfolio or examples of your editing work
• Able to be in the Boulder office 1 day per week

Engagement Terms

This is a 1099 independent contractor position — not a part-time or full-time employee role. A few things that follow from that:

• You'll work an expected 15–20 hours per week, with 1 day per week in our Boulder, CO office and the remainder remote
• As an independent contractor, you're responsible for providing your own equipment, including your own computer
• You control the manner and means of how you get the work done, within Farren's quality bar and deliverables — we're not setting a fixed schedule of hours or supervising day-to-day tasks the way we would for an employee
• This role does not include employee benefits (health insurance, paid time off, equity, or retirement contributions), and no taxes are withheld from contractor pay — you're responsible for your own tax filings and insurance
• The engagement is ongoing on an at-will, as-needed basis and can be adjusted or ended by either party
• This posting and any resulting engagement do not create an employer-employee relationship
