The Opportunity
Farmlink is at a pivotal moment. What began in 2020 as a group of students building relationships with farmers one call at a time has grown into a national food rescue organization that has moved more than 500 million pounds of donated, surplus food on roughly $10 million a year in philanthropic support, unlocking nearly $90 million in food value, with no trucks or warehouses of its own.
We've proven this model at $10 million a year. The next stage is real growth: an annualized revenue target of $25 million by 2030, built across foundations, major donors, corporate partners, and consumer giving. Fundraising and marketing have largely run as separate functions until now. Bringing them together as one growth team, with one strategy and one resourcing picture across every channel, is the shift this role leads.
The SVP of Revenue will hold the full picture of Farmlink's growth engine, foundations, major donors, corporate, and consumer giving, and decide how to use it, together, for the biggest possible outcome.
This function is still being built. Whoever takes this seat will shape its team, its systems, and its strategy from a real foundation, with genuine room to define how Farmlink raises and grows money for years to come.
Who We're Looking For
We're looking for someone with at least three years already operating at the VP level, or equivalent, inside a larger, high-growth, mission-driven organization, someone who has already proven a growth playbook transfers from one kind of organization to another and is ready to prove it again here. You don't see fundraising or sales and marketing as separate functions, they're one growth strategy reaching different audiences, and you've run them, or something close to them, together before.
You've spent real time inside a CRM, watching pipeline move stage to stage, using AI-assisted tools to score leads and forecast, and you know which signals actually predict a close. You're seasoned enough to have already built and led revenue teams, and still curious enough to want to be hands-on with what comes next. Real emotional intelligence matters just as much: knowing which version of Farmlink's story lands with which audience, whether that's you telling it directly or someone else on the team.
Your leadership extends past your own team, and past growth alone. You know revenue serves the mission, not the other way around, and you'd rather turn down a gift or a deal that pulls Farmlink into the wrong work than chase a number.
What You'll Do
Vision & Strategy:
- Own Farmlink's annual growth strategy, translating the $25 million goal into channel targets, resourcing, and sequencing year over year.
- Partner with the VP of Programs & Impact to ensure revenue opportunities only commit Farmlink to programmatic work that is strategic to our mission.
- Own major moments that cross both donor and public audiences, a policy win, a match campaign, the annual report narrative, deciding whether it happens, what story it tells, when it's timed, and what it's resourced against.
- Serve as the CEO's counterpart on growth strategy for the Board and external stakeholders, reporting regularly on strategy and performance.
Channel Growth:
- Build out major donor and foundation giving, working with the Director of Development, who leads day-to-day cultivation and stewardship.
- Design the pipeline and cadence that puts the CEO's and Founder's principal-gift relationships to their highest use, as one part of a diversified major donor portfolio, not the plan's primary channel.
- Grow consumer giving into a steady, subscription-like revenue channel, working with the Director of Marketing, who leads consumer acquisition and retention.
- Own corporate partnerships that extend Farmlink's reach and revenue: CSR opportunities, round-ups and event sponsorships, working with the Director of Marketing on brand fit, the Director of Development on the funding relationship, and the Head of Brand Partnerships to support co-branded campaigns.
Systems & Innovation:
- Own the CRM and revenue tooling behind Farmlink's fundraising and partnership pipeline, with the same AI-assisted prospecting, personalization, and forecasting discipline a strong sales org runs on.
- Partner with the COO on go-to-market strategy, sales process, and marketing tools for earned revenue pilots the COO concepts and owns operationally, for example a secondary market for surplus product, bringing revenue-side expertise to the pilot without owning the underlying business model.
- Experiment with earned revenue that doesn't depend on Farmlink's operations, e.g. media, speaking, content, or ongoing brand sponsorship built on Farmlink's story and audience, to diversify revenue beyond philanthropy and operations.
- Own Farmlink's founding story as a fundraising asset, knowing which early team members should tell which part of it, in what format, and building the systems that let each of them do that well.
- Build Farmlink's alumni network, more than 600 people who were part of Farmlink in its earliest days, into a long-term donor pipeline, working with the Director of Development on cultivation.
Leadership & Teamwork:
- Own the budget tradeoffs behind an ambitious revenue goal, and the long-term resource planning that keeps the function ahead of where Farmlink needs to be.
- Build and lead a high-performing growth team, sized to reach more than six people as Farmlink scales toward $25 million.
- Mentor other leaders across Farmlink, holding this function to real standards of accuracy and integrity.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience: At least three years already operating at the VP level, or equivalent, inside a larger, high-growth, mission-driven organization (roughly $20 million or more in annual revenue, or an equivalent scale of complexity), with a track record of taking a growth playbook and proving it transfers to a new organization.
- Channel Leadership: A track record in sales or go-to-market leadership across more than one revenue channel, with sustained tenure at each stop rather than a string of short stints.
- Systems Fluency: Fluency with CRM systems (HubSpot, Salesforce, or similar) and the AI-assisted tooling now standard in high-performing revenue teams, plus genuine curiosity to keep adopting what's next.
- Partnerships & Deal Making: Experience with B2B and brand partnerships: commercial deals, round-ups, co-branded campaigns, and event sponsorships.
- Data-Driven Decision Making: A salesperson's instinct for numbers and leading indicators, paired with the storytelling that actually closes gifts and deals.
- Culture: High emotional intelligence and narrative instinct, a feel for which version of Farmlink's story lands with a foundation officer, a major donor, or a first-time online giver, and who should tell it.
- Fundraising Track Record: A personal track record of raising money yourself is a plus, though not required, since this role blends strategy with hands-on fundraising.
- Remote-First: Comfort running an asset-light, fully remote, fully dispersed operation.
- Location: Based full-time in the USA. Able and willing to commit to travel as needed.
Personal Attributes
- Entrepreneurial. You think outside the box, you can build a function from scratch, and you are resourceful in the pursuit of an ambitious revenue goal, capable of doing more with a limited budget while still planning years past this year's number.
- Low Ego. Apolitical by nature, you are driven by objectives and impact in your work, not by personal aggrandizement or recognition.
- Ownership Mentality. You operate with an ownership mentality, coming to the table proactively with solutions to problems and challenges. You understand how your actions and leadership impact the broader team, and you hold your team to the same standards of ownership that you demonstrate.
- Structured/Organized. You are driven by process, which is logical, progressive, and grounded in data. You love scale and thrive in continuously improving by being better organized.
- Adaptable. Comfortable with ambiguity and organizational change, since parts of this function are still being built rather than run from an existing playbook.
- Hands-On. You thrive in fast-paced environments where you can execute alongside your team. A big-company mindset with unlimited resources isn't a fit here, this function is still being built and requires rolling up your sleeves along the way.
