Family Promise of Tualatin Valley Guest Support Specialist (Graveyard) Tigard, OR · Part time Company website

Family Promise of Tualatin Valley (FPTV) is on the hunt for a Guest Support Specialist to bring the perfect combo of heart, hustle, and humor to our shelter team! Think of this role as the ultimate behind-the-scenes hero of the shelter world—part front desk wizard, part crisis wrangler, part guest care extraordinaire. You’ll be the go-to for anything from greeting guests with a warm smile, jumping in to prep a meal, calming a chaotic moment with grace, or helping the team troubleshoot everything from broken lightbulbs to logistics. One moment you might be answering phones like a pro, the next you’re helping someone find their toothbrush, a safe space, or a little hope. We’re looking for someone who thrives on variety, radiates kindness, and can bring both compassion and order to the beautiful, busy rhythm of shelter life. Bonus points if you know your way around a Google Sheet, enjoy lending a hand wherever it’s needed, and can roll with the kind of surprises only a 24-hour shelter can provide. At FPTV, we’re not just a workplace—we’re a community. We show up for each other, laugh often, and lead with empathy. If you’re looking for meaningful work that makes a difference every single day, and you’re ready to jump in with heart and purpose, we’d love to meet you. Spanish-speaking applicants are strongly encouraged to apply. Spanish language skills are particularly valuable in supporting many of the families and individuals who access our programs in Washington County.

Description

Why FPTV?

  • Comprehensive Benefits: FPTV understands the importance of employee well-being. That’s why we offer a generous, employer-assisted benefits package for part-time employees that includes long-term disability, life insurance, a monthly HRA contribution, and eligibility for a 401(k) plan with employer match.
  • Work-Life Balance: We value our employees’ time and prioritize a healthy work-life balance. Part-time employees receive paid time off (PTO) that accrues based on hours worked, along with paid sick time and paid holidays on a prorated basis. Employees also receive a personal health and wellness day, prorated based on scheduled hours. Hourly employees receive a paid 30-minute lunch break during qualifying shifts.
  • Family-Friendly Policies: We know life doesn’t stop when the workday begins. FPTV is a family-friendly organization that supports personal and family commitments—and yes, we’re dog-friendly too! You’ll often spot four-legged friends at the shelter spreading joy. That said, pups are only allowed in roles and spaces that safely accommodate them—typically private offices or those with a door to close... just in case your dog sees something very exciting (never happens, right?).
  • Continuous Learning and Growth: Join a team that values growth and ongoing learning. At FPTV, we believe that by supporting one another’s development, we can more effectively serve families and advocate for lasting change in housing equity.
  • Equity and Inclusion: FPTV is committed to building an inclusive workplace where all voices are respected and valued. We actively engage with diverse communities and work to evolve our practices through listening, learning, and implementing community-centered solutions.
