The Guest Support Specialist partners with FPTV case managers to assist guests in a 24-hour shelter setting, helping maintain a safe, clean, and supportive environment. This position interacts with other staff members and supervisors and provides additional support wherever it’s needed. Our ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic environment, ready to adapt as the needs of the shelter evolve—no two days are ever the same.

Required Qualifications:

• 1+ years of experience in similar positions, e.g., direct care, guest assistant, front desk work.
• Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) are highly valued and preferred!
• Strong integrity and commitment to client satisfaction.
• Passionate about ensuring excellent treatment and care for guests, clients, staff, and vendors.
• Proficient multitasking skills.
• Clear and professional verbal and written communication skills with prompt follow-through. 
• Ability to authentically connect with others and meet participants where they are, while maintaining appropriate and professional boundaries.
• Ability to navigate challenging discussions with empathy, confidentiality, and respect.
• Pleasant, patient, and friendly attitude.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Excellent listening skills.
• Strong work ethic and team player mentality.
• Ability to handle complaints and challenging situations professionally.
• Willingness to work additional hours outside regular shifts, including holidays and inclement weather (preferred).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Docs.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
• Due to federal funding, drug use—including marijuana—is prohibited during employment.
• Must be 18 or older and have reliable transportation.

Desired Qualifications

• Willing to pick up additional shifts or hours based on organizational needs and personal availability
• Familiarity with Apricot or other guest registration databases 
• CPR/First Aid/Narcan Certification
• Valid food handler’s card

Pay Scale: $19-22/hr., DOE

Work Hours: Monday-Friday, 12:00a-8:00a

Physical Demands:

The role requires sitting—especially for computer work—extending arms in various directions, and using office equipment like a computer and phone. Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds and navigate a large building, including tight spaces. Requires visual acuity for reading screens or documents and the auditory capacity for oral communication. Regular attendance is vital.

Work Environment:

This role operates in a professional office setting, using standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
