OVERVIEW

Cultivate is looking for an owner-operator, not an executive hire. The Managing Director runs the practice: full ownership of the P&L, the client roster, the program portfolio, and the facilitation standard across every engagement. Compensation is structured as a true partner: a base salary plus commission on the gross revenue of the entire practice, across every client and every program, plus a meaningful equity stake in Cultivate.

THE OPPORTUNITY

Where the Collective builds brands, Cultivate builds the people behind them. You will build the client roster across leadership development, DEIB, and skills training, develop the facilitation bench, hold the operating cadence, and own the practice's revenue, margin, and growth trajectory, with every Fallow Collective entity as a built-in client and proof case. Every program sold and every client signed grows your earnings and your equity value.

You will not build alone. The full operating infrastructure of Fallow Collective is in place: payroll, contracts, CRM, finance, marketing and content support, events and activation, and active business development feeding the agency pipeline.


WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Own the Cultivate P&L: revenue, margin, and growth across the full client roster, internal and external
  • Build the client roster: pipeline, proposals, contract negotiation, and ongoing client leadership
  • Own the program portfolio: curriculum standards, program design, and delivery quality
  • Build the facilitation bench: recruit, certify, and develop facilitators and trainers as the practice scales
  • Run the practice operating cadence: pipeline, delivery, and client health reviews
  • Deliver internal engagements across Fallow Collective entities
  • Represent Cultivate as its senior leader with clients, partners, and the industry


WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Ten or more years of leadership in learning and development, leadership development, DEIB, or organizational effectiveness, including meaningful time selling and delivering programs to external clients
  • A track record of building or scaling a training practice, consultancy, or L&D function with commercial accountability
  • Credibility in or strong fluency with the beverage alcohol, hospitality, or CPG industries, or the ability to earn it fast
  • Demonstrated facilitation and program design excellence: this leader sells the work and can deliver it
  • Operating discipline across pipeline, delivery cadence, margin, and accountability
  • Entrepreneurial conviction; comfortable with compensation weighted toward commission tied to the revenue of the whole practice, with equity as the long-term upside
  • Hospitality-minded leader who models the culture Cultivate teaches


COMPENSATION SUMMARY

Full-Time W2 with a base salary, commission, and a meaningful equity stake in Cultivate. The Managing Director earns a $40,000 base salary plus 25 percent commission on the gross revenue of the entire practice, across all clients and program lines, up to an annual commission cap of $250,000. Beyond the cap, the upside of practice growth accrues through your equity stake. Standard benefits package included.

Illustrative earning trajectory:

  • At $300K in annual practice revenue: $75,000 in commission, plus base
  • At $1M or more in annual practice revenue: $250,000 in commission (annual cap), plus base, with continued growth building equity value

Benefits include health insurance with 75 percent of premium covered, three weeks of paid vacation, seven recognized holidays plus year-end company closure, monthly phone and internet allowances, and pre-approved travel reimbursement.
