About Fallow Collective

Fallow Collective is a hospitality-driven ecosystem building and growing purpose-driven brands across beverage alcohol and hospitality-adjacent CPG. We exist at the intersection of commerce and purpose, where disciplined strategy meets meaningful experience, and where doing right by people and doing well in business are treated as the same goal. We were built on a belief that emerging brands deserve more than advice. They deserve an ecosystem, one that can take a brand from strategy to shelf, from first account to national scale, and from a good product to an experience people remember. Rather than launch a single company, we built a family of connected ventures, each led by its own operators, that together cover the full arc of how a brand grows in our industry. What one entity sets in motion, another carries forward, so founders gain senior leadership, real execution, and lasting relationships without assembling it all themselves. A common thread runs through everything we do: bringing hospitality back to retail. Whether we are opening doors at the corporate level, executing in the field, designing an activation, or pouring a thoughtful drink, we lead with hospitality, intention, and genuine care for the people on every side of the transaction. We hold ourselves to thoughtful growth and financial discipline, and we invest in leadership development so the people who build with us grow as much as the brands we serve. At Fallow Collective, we don't just build businesses. We design ecosystems that empower founders, support operators in the field, and deliver experiences grounded in hospitality, inclusivity, and intentional design. Through the Fallow Foundation, our nonprofit dedicated to food access and education, we extend that same purpose beyond commerce to the communities we are part of. Rooted in purpose. Built to grow.

ABOUT FALLOW COLLECTIVE Fallow Collective is a hospitality-driven ecosystem building and growing purpose-driven brands across beverage alcohol and hospitality-adjacent CPG. We exist at the intersection of commerce and purpose, where disciplined strategy meets meaningful experience, and where doing right by people and doing well in business are treated as the same goal. ABOUT THE DIVISION MODEL Fallow Collective organizes commercial growth into category divisions, each led by an operator with deep relationships in their space. A Category Director owns their category across the Collective: the client roster, the category point of view, and the brand-level go-to-market strategy for every brand we represent in that space. Category strategy is set at the Collective level, and our operating entities carry it into market, so every brand is matched with people who already know its buyers, its category, and its market, and with the field and activation teams to execute. Our sales and field entities, including Barrel & Bloom Agency, Rooted Field Services, and Orchard, open accounts and execute in market. Our activation, events, ambassador, and hospitality entities bring brands to life with consumers. The Category Director is the category owner who directs strategy across all of it for their category. The result is disciplined, senior-level growth without the overhead, helping founders scale with integrity and intention. Empowering purpose-driven emerging brands.

THE OPPORTUNITY Fallow Collective is in active build mode. We are not looking to fill a seat. We are looking for a true partner with vision who wants to build a Beer Division from the ground up. There is no existing client book to inherit. You are founding the Division. The credibility, relationships, and category point of view you bring become the Beer Division. You will not build alone. The full operating infrastructure of Fallow Collective is in place to amplify what you build: a Brand Growth Partner field team across major US markets, field operations leadership, marketing and content support, events and activation, hospitality partnerships, payroll, contracts, CRM, and finance. You bring the beer expertise, the relationships, and the vision. The platform amplifies what you build.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Build and lead the Beer Division client roster from the ground up, across the Collective
  • Define category positioning and brand-level commercial strategy across all beer categories, including craft and independent beer, imports, lagers and pilsners, ales and IPAs, and specialty and seasonal styles
  • Develop and manage distributor and on-premise relationships across the beer landscape
  • Direct how the Collective's sales, field, and activation entities execute for Beer Division clients
  • Drive Division-level reporting, pipeline development, and revenue growth across the Collective
  • Represent the Beer Division as a thought leader and category steward

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Five or more years of commercial leadership experience in beer (brand side, brewery side, importer side, distributor side, or agency side)
  • A clear vision for what a purpose-driven beer division could be across a multi-entity platform, and the conviction to build it
  • Demonstrated beer category credibility and established relationships with beer buyers across on-premise and off-premise, distributor beer brand managers, and brewery and importer partners
  • Track record of building or leading a beer sales function, agency, distributor book, or supplier portfolio
  • Entrepreneurial operating style; comfortable in pure-commission compensation while building a book
  • Hospitality-minded operator who leads with service and earned credibility

COMPENSATION SUMMARY Full-Time W2 with pure commission compensation and a small equity stake in Fallow Collective. No base salary. As Beer Category Director, you earn commission on all revenue the Beer Division generates across the Collective, regardless of how the client arrived (your pipeline, Collective business development, founder network, or referrals), up to an annual commission cap of $175,000. Beyond the cap, the upside of Division growth accrues through your equity stake. Benefits include health, vision, and dental insurance with 75 percent of premium covered; a 401(k) with a 3.5 percent company match after one year of service; two weeks of paid vacation; seven recognized holidays plus year-end company closure; and business expenses. A complete compensation package description, equity terms, and full job description are shared during the interview process.

HIRING PROCESS The hiring process is run directly by the Founder. Candidates can expect an initial conversation, a working session on the Beer Division model and growth plan, and a final discussion of terms.

Fallow Collective is an equal opportunity organization. We are committed to building a leadership bench that reflects the diversity of the categories and communities we serve.
