Description

Expatiate Communications is looking for a Travel Speech Language Pathologist (SLP), part time or full time. This role requires travel throughout California (Statewide) based on assigned territory, region, or organizational needs. Speech Pathologists are responsible for IEP management and assessments in their assigned geographic area. The Speech Pathologist will evaluate, diagnose, and treat students with speech or language disorders, formulate individualized treatment programs, keep appropriate records, and inform faculty and parents about students' progress. 

 

Travel, Reimbursement, & Support: 

  • Successful candidates must be willing to travel within assigned territory within California. May require travel to corporate office in Pasadena, CA for staff meetings. 
  • Manage a caseload across various locations within a designated region.  
  • Successful candidate must be adaptable and prepared for regular short-term assignments at various locations.  
  • Mileage reimbursement for personal vehicle use is provided at the discretion of the company. 
  • All work-related travel expenses will be reimbursed in accordance with company policy.

Responsibilities: 

  • Assesses the needs of pupils with speech or language disorders and matches their needs with programs available through the educational system. 
  • Meets with students regularly according to the treatment program schedule, evaluates, and maintains records of students' progress. 
  • Reports progress to faculty members and meets with them on a regular basis to discuss their evaluations of students' skills as demonstrated in class performance and social interaction with other students. 
  • Develop individual speech and language programs based upon assessment results. 
  • Participate in the eligibility and planning required for development of the IEP when a communication disorder is present. 
  • Reports progress to parents and meets with them regularly. 
  • Suggest activities parents can do with their child to assist and supplement the student's speech therapy program. 
  • Repeat evaluations on a regular basis to measure progress according to professional guidelines. 
  • Maintain student progress records as required. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skill & Other Requirements: 

  • Valid California SLP License / CTC Credential or eligibility for a state waiver 
  • A valid license/RPE issued from Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology Board, California 
  • Must be legally eligible to work in California 
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license or the ability to obtain transportation between job sites, is required
