Position Purpose/Summary

The PRP Counsellor plays a key role in supporting the rehabilitation and recovery of clients diagnosed with mental health disorders. The post-holder will work collaboratively with clients to develop individualized rehabilitation plans, facilitate life skills development, and support community integration. This position requires strong documentation skills, effective communication, and a passion for empowering individuals to live independently and successfully within their communities.


Key Accountabilities


  • Ensure the delivery of client-centered, strengths-based services to all PRP clients.
  • Provide excellent service and build relationships with clients, families, and community stakeholders.
  • Support continuous improvement in the delivery of psychosocial rehabilitation services.


Duties & Responsibilities


  • Conduct initial intake and psycho-social assessments to identify client needs and strengths.
  • Collaborate with clients to develop individualized rehabilitation plans and goals.
  • Provide skill-building interventions and support in areas such as independent living, social skills, health and wellness, and employment readiness.
  • Coordinate and facilitate community-based activities aligned with clients’ goals.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records, progress notes, and documentation in compliance with agency and regulatory standards.
  • Communicate regularly with therapists, case managers, and other providers to support coordinated care.
  • Participate in clinical supervision, staff meetings, and ongoing training as required.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA and all relevant privacy, health, and safety regulations.

Job Requirement

Education: Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counselling, Human Services, or a related field from an accredited college or university.

Special Requirement: Must be certified or eligible for PRP Certification in the state of Maryland.

Experience: At least one year of experience providing PRP or mental health-related services preferred. New graduates with strong interpersonal and organizational skills will also be considered.

Salary

$28 - $30 per hour
