Excellent Healthcare & PRP Services is seeking a qualified Maryland-licensed CRNP-PMH/PMHNP to serve as Medical Director for our Outpatient Mental Health Center (OMHC) in Baltimore, Maryland. The Medical Director provides clinical leadership and oversight of psychiatric services, supports quality and regulatory compliance, reviews clinical care and treatment planning, and collaborates with the clinical and administrative team to promote safe, effective, person-centered behavioral health services. The ideal candidate will have strong psychiatric clinical experience, knowledge of Maryland behavioral health requirements, and the ability to provide leadership within a multidisciplinary outpatient setting.

Position Type: Part-Time

Excellent Healthcare & PRP Services is seeking an experienced Maryland-licensed Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner – Psychiatric Mental Health (CRNP-PMH) to serve as Medical Director for our Outpatient Mental Health Center (OMHC).

The Medical Director will provide clinical leadership and oversight of psychiatric and medical services and help ensure services are delivered in accordance with applicable Maryland Department of Health requirements, COMAR, professional standards, payer requirements, and organizational policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical and medical oversight for the OMHC.
  • Oversee psychiatric evaluations, diagnoses, medication management, and related clinical services.
  • Provide consultation and clinical guidance to behavioral health staff.
  • Review the adequacy and appropriateness of treatment plans and clinical care.
  • Participate in development and review of clinical policies, protocols, admission criteria, and discharge processes.
  • Provide consultation regarding complex or high-risk clinical cases and psychiatric emergencies.
  • Participate in critical-incident review, quality improvement, peer review, and clinical risk-management activities.
  • Collaborate with the Program Director, Clinical Director, Compliance Officer, and executive leadership.
  • Support compliance with Maryland Medicaid, documentation, medical-necessity, credentialing, and scope-of-practice requirements.
  • Maintain sufficient presence and availability to fulfill all applicable OMHC Medical Director responsibilities under Maryland law and COMAR.

Required Qualifications

  • Current and unrestricted authorization to practice as a CRNP in Maryland.
  • Current Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner certification (CRNP-PMH/PMHNP).
  • Current Maryland RN license or other lawful authority to practice in Maryland.
  • Current prescriptive authority.
  • DEA registration, if applicable to assigned duties.
  • NPI and eligibility for Maryland Medicaid and payer credentialing.
  • Experience in psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, psychopharmacology, treatment planning, and medication management.
  • Ability to meet all applicable Maryland requirements for an OMHC Medical Director.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous Medical Director or psychiatric leadership experience.
  • Experience in a Maryland OMHC or community behavioral health setting.
  • Knowledge of COMAR, Maryland Medicaid, and Behavioral Health Administration requirements.
  • Experience with CARF or other behavioral health accreditation standards.
  • Experience with quality assurance, incident review, utilization review, or performance improvement.
