Every Electric Operations Lead Brooklyn, NY · Full time Company website

The Operations Lead will develop and run the processes that get powerbanks into the hands of ratepayers smoothly and accessibly. That means the forward and reverse logistics behind each unit that let us support congested grids where traditional solutions fall short. Today we've deployed thousands of powerbanks across New York City, run on a mix of in-house and outsourced logistics. We are now scaling by orders of magnitude, both here in NYC and across new markets. Working closely with the co-founders, you will build the systems and the team that bring our impact to more ratepayers.

About Every Electric

Every Electric (www.everyelectric.com) is an early-stage grid technology company building distributed energy storage to make electricity more affordable and reliable. We operate New York City’s largest indoor residential powrebank virtual power plant in partnership with Con Edison, aggregating residential storage to deliver demand response and grid flexibility services. Plug-in HVAC accounts for roughly 20% of Con Edison’s peak capacity, 2.5 GW of load, and our goal is to make legacy loads like those flexible by pairing them with powerbanks.

We are backed by NYSERDA, Activate, and Breakthrough Energy, and our work has been featured in Canary Media, CBS New York, and AP News. We are headquartered in Brooklyn, New York.

Description

About Every Electric

Every Electric scales simple energy storage for a cleaner, more accessible, and affordable grid. We own and orchestrate New York City's largest A/C powerbank virtual power plant in partnership with Con Edison. Our mission is to build an electric everyday that elevates everyone.

About the role

The Operations Lead will develop and run the processes that get powerbanks into the hands of ratepayers smoothly and accessibly. That means the forward and reverse logistics behind each unit that let us support congested grids where traditional solutions fall short. Today we've deployed thousands of powerbanks across New York City, run on a mix of in-house and outsourced logistics. We are now scaling by orders of magnitude, both here in NYC and across new markets. Working closely with the co-founders, you will build the systems and the team that bring our impact to more ratepayers.

Responsibilities

  • Fulfillment pipeline: Own end-to-end delivery operations — order creation, scheduling, routing, and last-mile execution across in-house teams and regional delivery partners — including the exceptions that come with moving thousands of dense powerbanks into dense walk-up apartments.
  • Inventory and asset lifecycle: Track every unit across its full lifecycle — deployment, transit, inventory, returns, refurbishment, and recycling — and keep serial-level records accurate as hardware moves between the OEM, partners, and ratepayers.
  • Warehousing and compliance: Stand up and run the warehouse operations the fleet needs — space, layout, handling, and the storage, shipping, and code compliance that come with electrification hardware at volume.
  • Operations tooling: Build the internal tools, integrations, and data models that run fulfillment and inventory, replacing manual coordination with software you own rather than work queued behind engineering.
  • Unit economics: Measure and drive down what operations cost — cost per unit delivered, returned, and refurbished, on-time delivery rates, failure root causes — and keep those numbers visible without someone re-deriving them each month.
  • Market expansion: Stand up operations in new markets and localities, across the full range of built environments from dense urban to rural. Evaluate third-party logistics and regional partners, and adapt the New York playbook to places we do not yet operate.
  • Development velocity: Use modern AI-assisted development tools to build and ship efficiently; we expect everyone here to be proficient with them.

Requirements

  • Experience: 3–5 years in logistics, supply chain, fulfillment, or technical operations, including direct ownership of a physical operation rather than analysis of one.
  • Building tooling: Demonstrated ability to build automation — scripts, integrations, internal tools, dashboards. Credentials matter less than evidence you have shipped something people use.
  • Systems fluency: Comfort with APIs and databases, enough to integrate third-party services, model operational data, and answer your own questions without waiting on engineering.
  • Operational judgment: Organizational discipline and the ability to run many concurrent workstreams — routes, orders, returns, vendors — without dropping any of them.
  • Vendor management: Experience selecting, negotiating with, and holding accountable third-party logistics, delivery, or fulfillment partners.
  • AI-assisted development: Proficiency with modern AI tools and a demonstrated ability to use them to increase delivery speed.
  • Domain interest: Interest in energy systems, grid modernization, and decarbonization.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience standing up operations in a new city or region, including site selection and third-party logistics.
  • Familiarity with lithium-ion shipping requirements, hazmat classification, or fire-code compliance for battery storage.
  • Experience scaling last-mile delivery, reverse logistics, or field service at consumer scale.
  • Experience at an early-stage hardware or consumer-electronics company.
