Evergreen Community Behavioral Health is seeking compassionate and dependable Certified Peer Support Specialists (PSS) to provide community-based peer support services throughout North Carolina. Certified Peer Support Specialist (CPSS)Join the Evergreen Community Behavioral Health Team


Evergreen Community Behavioral Health is seeking compassionate and motivated Certified Peer Support Specialists (CPSS) to provide community-based peer support services throughout North Carolina.

As a Certified Peer Support Specialist, you will use your lived experience to empower individuals living with mental health and behavioral health challenges. You'll provide encouragement, advocacy, skill-building, and connections to community resources while helping clients achieve their recovery goals.

Our administrative team handles referrals, scheduling support, and billing so you can focus on providing quality care to your clients.

Responsibilities


  • Provide Medicaid Peer Support Services in community settings.
  • Build recovery-focused relationships with clients.
  • Assist clients with developing and achieving individualized recovery goals.
  • Connect clients with housing, employment, education, transportation, healthcare, food resources, and other community supports.
  • Teach coping skills, independent living skills, and self-advocacy.
  • Accompany clients to appointments and community resources when appropriate.
  • Collaborate with therapists, Qualified Professionals, and other treatment team members.
  • Complete documentation accurately and submit notes within required deadlines.
  • Maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality at all times.

Qualifications Required


  • Active North Carolina Certified Peer Support Specialist (CPSS) Certification.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Valid North Carolina Driver's License.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Ability to pass required background screenings.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

Preferred


  • Experience providing community-based behavioral health services.
  • Familiarity with NC Medicaid documentation.
  • Knowledge of Cumberland County and surrounding community resources.

Compensation & Benefits


  • $20.00–$25.00 per hour (based on qualifications and experience)
