Evergreen Bilingual Learning Center is a Spanish-immersion, Montessori-inspired early childhood education program serving children from infancy through Pre-K. Our mission is to provide a nurturing environment where children develop academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually while becoming confident bilingual learners.

We are seeking a caring, dependable, and enthusiastic Assistant Teacher who is passionate about working with young children and supporting a positive classroom environment.

Position Summary

The Assistant Teacher supports the Lead Teacher in implementing daily classroom activities, maintaining a safe and engaging learning environment, and promoting the growth and development of every child. This position requires active participation in classroom routines, supervision of children, and collaboration with families and team members.

Bilingual candidates (English and Spanish) are highly preferred as language immersion is a core component of our program.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Lead Teacher with daily classroom activities and lesson implementation.
  • Supervise and engage children during learning centers, outdoor play, meals, and transitions.
  • Support children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
  • Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment.
  • Foster positive relationships with children, families, and coworkers.
  • Encourage language development through meaningful interactions in English and Spanish.
  • Assist with meal service, diapering, toileting, and other age-appropriate care routines.
  • Observe and report children's progress, behaviors, and needs to the Lead Teacher.
  • Follow all licensing, health, safety, and company policies and procedures.
  • Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 18 years of age.
  • Fluent in both English and Spanish (speaking, reading, and writing).
  • Ability to effectively communicate with children, families, and team members in both languages.
  • Ability to pass all required background checks.
  • Reliable transportation and consistent attendance.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and actively engage with children throughout the day.
  • Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills.
  • Genuine passion for working with young children.

Preferred

  • Previous experience in childcare, preschool, daycare, or early childhood education.
  • CPR and First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential or Early Childhood Education coursework.

Salary

$13 - $18 per hour
