Position Summary
The 4K Teacher is responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment for four-year-old children. The teacher will plan and implement developmentally appropriate lessons that support children's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth while preparing them for kindergarten success. The ideal candidate is passionate about early childhood education, maintains strong classroom management skills, and fosters positive relationships with children, families, and staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and implement age-appropriate curriculum and daily lesson plans.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment.
- Support children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
- Monitor and assess student progress and maintain accurate records.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student development and classroom activities.
- Ensure compliance with all licensing, health, and safety regulations.
- Manage classroom behavior using positive guidance techniques.
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to support program goals.
- Participate in professional development and training opportunities.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment.
Qualifications
Required
- Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Education, or a closely related field.
- Experience working with preschool-aged children.
- Knowledge of child development principles and best practices in early childhood education.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to pass required background checks and meet state licensing requirements.
- CPR and First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
Preferred
- Bachelor's degree in early childhood education or a related field.
- State teaching certification or credential related to early childhood education.
- Previous experience teaching in a 4K or preschool classroom.
