Epiphany School is seeking a reliable, organized, and collaborative Assistant Cook to support daily kitchen operations. This role ensures the safe preparation, handling, and service of meals while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization. The Assistant Cook will also support special events and school programs as needed. This position occasionally requires early morning hours and flexibility to support school events.
Key Responsibilities
- Properly clean and sanitize all food preparation areas according to established health and hygiene standards
- Wash, sanitize, and appropriately store all cooking equipment, appliances, utensils, cutting boards, and dishes
- Assist in preparing and serving breakfast, lunch, snacks, and other meals as directed
- Clean, wash, cut, and prepare ingredients, including meats, vegetables, fruits, and other food items
- Assist with receiving deliveries, inspecting items, and stocking supplies in designated storage areas
- Organize, label, and correctly store food supplies following proper food safety inventory rotation guidelines
- Prepare, clean, and set up breakfast carts each morning
- Clean, set up, and maintain the dining hall in preparation for daily lunch service
- Support kitchen operations during school events and special programs as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal and Head of School
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of culinary experience required
- Knowledge of basic food preparation and food safety practices
- Ability to follow directions and work collaboratively as part of a team
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time and lift up to 40 pounds
- ServSafe certification preferred
- Allergen awareness certificate preferred
Compensation and Benefits
- Compensation: Commensurate with qualifications and experience

Hours
- 35 Hours per week
- Monday through Thursday - 7:30 am - 3:00 pm
- Friday - 7:00 am - 2:30 pm
