The Role
You will own the physical build, integration, and rapid debugging of the electrical hardware powering our fusion devices and test stands. You are the team’s go-to builder—working at the bench and on the device to bring complex schematics to life.

What You’ll Do
· Bring-Up & System Debug: Execute end-to-end complex electrical systems—including high-voltage interfaces, precision sensor arrays, power distribution, analog and digital signals processing.
· Harnessing & Panel Integration: Fabricate, modify, and route custom, high-reliability cable harnesses and control panels for harsh electro-magnetic and high-vacuum environments.
· Hardware Diagnostics: Diagnose complex system failures using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters, and high-voltage test equipment.
· Design Feedback Loop: Interpret schematics, assembly drawings, and PCB layouts; collaborate directly with design engineers to drive Design-for-Manufacturability (DFM) and reliability improvements.
· Documentation & Standards: Author clear rework notes, build procedures, and acceptance test plans. Ensure all builds comply with company, state, and federal safety standards.
· Facility & Test Readiness: Maintain high lab standards via 5S principles, manage critical spares, and support facility power/data drops to ensure maximum test stand readiness.
Required Qualifications
- Extensive hands-on electrical technician experience in a high-rigor environment (aerospace, robotics, automotive, particle physics/national lab, or deep-tech hardware startup).
- Lab Equipment & Diagnostics: Expert proficiency with diagnostic tools including oscilloscopes, multimeters, benchtop power supplies, spectrum analyzers, and hot-air rework/soldering stations.
- Schematic & CAD Literacy: Ability to read and interpret schematics, PCB layouts, BOMs, and assembly drawings; working knowledge of PCB viewer tools (Altium, KiCad, EAGLE, or similar). Demonstrated ability to follow detailed instructions and protocols.
- Harnessing & Interconnects: Demonstrated experience building custom cable harnesses, crimping high-reliability connectors (e.g., Deutsch, Amphenol, Molex), and interpreting complex wiring diagrams.
- Firmware & Bring-Up: Experience flashing firmware and running basic board bring-up scripts using debug probes (J-Link, ST-Link, FTDI).
- Mindset & Ownership: Exceptional attention to detail, proactive problem-solving, and a track record of taking personal ownership over unblocking hardware issues in a fast-paced R&D/Startup environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- High-Voltage / Power Systems: Familiarity with pulsed and DC high-voltage (HV) systems and safety protocols, power electronics, or high-current systems.
- Noise & EMI Mitigation: Understanding of shielding, grounding, and signal integrity best practices in noisy electromagnetic environments.
- DFM / Design Input: Experience providing direct Design-for-Manufacturability (DFM) feedback to electrical design engineers.
- Working experience with machining and fabrication (lathe, mill, CNC, drill press, etc.)
