About Enlighten Extracts

Enlighten is an Anchorage-grown cannabis company built around quality, curiosity, and doing things the right way. Founded in 2017 as a small, family-run dispensary, Enlighten has grown into a vertically integrated cannabis company with two Anchorage retail locations, cultivation, manufacturing, and products sold throughout Alaska. Our team includes cultivators, makers, production specialists, sales professionals, budtenders, and business leaders working together from seed to shelf. We care deeply about the quality of what we produce, but just as much about how we work. We believe strong companies are built through collaboration, clear communication, accountability, continuous learning, and people who genuinely care about their craft. We're still growing and evolving, which means working at Enlighten comes with the opportunity to contribute ideas, learn across departments, develop your skills, and have a meaningful impact on where the company goes next. We're proud to be building an Alaska cannabis company that takes the plant, the work, and the people behind it seriously.

Previous cannabis extraction experience is helpful, but not required. On-the-job training is provided for our specialized equipment and processes. We are primarily looking for someone who can follow procedures carefully, communicate when something is unclear, maintain a clean and organized workspace, and learn technical processes over time.

Responsibilities

  • Operate freeze-drying equipment and rosin presses after training.

Post-Processing

Assist with and train on a variety of cannabis refinement and post-processing techniques, including:

  • Winterization
  • Color remediation

  • Assist with harvest and trimming of material intended for fresh-frozen extraction.
  • Accurately record production, waste, and yield information in company records and spreadsheets.
  • Clean laboratory glassware, tools, work surfaces, and processing equipment.
  • Assist with routine laboratory equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Follow established SOPs, safety requirements, and Alaska cannabis regulations.
  • Communicate equipment issues, process deviations, or unclear instructions promptly.

Schedule

During onboarding and training, this position generally follows the facility production schedule of 7:00 AM–5:00 PM, Monday through Friday.

After successful completion of the 90-day introductory period, some scheduling flexibility may be available as long as production requirements and team responsibilities continue to be met.

Training

Training on specialized extraction equipment and laboratory processes is provided during onboarding. Candidates do not need prior experience with every process listed above to be successful in this position.

Qualifications Required

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Valid Alaska Marijuana Handler Permit, or ability to obtain one as required for employment.
  • Ability to follow detailed procedures and maintain accurate records.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and cleanliness.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to work safely around mechanical equipment and in a production laboratory environment.
  • Ability to perform repetitive and physically demanding production tasks.

Preferred

  • Previous experience in cannabis production, extraction, manufacturing, laboratory work, warehouses, production lines, logistics, print shops, or similar environments.

  • Familiarity with basic spreadsheets and digital recordkeeping.
  • Experience working with mechanical or processing equipment.
  • Knowledge of cannabis products, extraction methods, brands, or consumption methods.
  • Familiarity with Alaska's regulated cannabis industry and local cannabis market.
