The Music Therapist role at Empower You Therapy Services is a community-based position located around Denver, CO. The role is expected to consist of about 12 hrs per week with the opportunity to grow to full-time. Empower You Therapy Services will pay the hourly rate for all duties, including sessions, admin, and travel time.

Description

The Board-Certified Music Therapist, reporting to the Clinical Director, will facilitate, plan, and implement music therapy services and ensure that ethical and effective services are provided based upon best practices. Further, the Board-Certified Music Therapist is expected to collaborate with all staff and participate in continuing education opportunities to ensure gold standard therapy is provided. Empower You Therapy Services is based in Boulder, CO, but most of the caseload is currently in Denver, CO.

Job responsibilities:

  • Provide assessments, in-person, and telehealth sessions to clients (individual and group)
  • Complete and maintain detailed, up to date, and organized client files within TheraNest (client information, contact network, general documents, contact log, treatment plans, progress notes, clinical documents, music therapy assessment, and termination reports, as needed)
  • Develop quarterly treatment plans in conjunction with clients, caregivers, and other professionals as needed
  • Update progress notes, treatment plans, and data sheets after updating goals/objectives each quarter
  • Communicate with parents, caregivers and providers to discuss progress 
  • Create, build, and reassess the session schedule
  • Communicate the schedule with clients/caregivers/facilities
  • Maintain skills of telehealth platforms (Zoom and GoogleMeet)
  • Coordinate transportation to/from sessions as needed
  • Login to work email each work day and prioritize responses to Empower You team members
  • View spam folder on a weekly basis to ensure nothing important is missed
  • Respond to all email requests within 5 business days unless otherwise specified (e.g., referrals and some urgent emails have shorter requested response times)
  • Log all hours in Timesheet by 7 pm each Saturday
  • Implement and encourage a collaborative approach to the therapeutic process for each client
  • Communicate with Clinical Director about potential contracts and leads proactively 
  • Maintain documentation on communication with contracts and leads (potential client in TheraNest)
  • Identify any problem areas and convene with the Clinical Director as needed
  • Attend mandatory meetings with supervisor and team
  • Maintain confidentiality and HIPAA compliance
  • Maintain CBMT certification, additional certifications/trainings, and CMTE credits as needed
  • Maintain AMTA Professional Competencies and CBMT Board certification Domains
  • Uphold Code of Ethics (AMTA + CBMT), Scope of Music Therapy Practice (AMTA + CBMT), CBMT Code of Professional Practice, and AMTA Standards of Clinical Practice


Therapist Qualifications:

  • Board-Certification (MT-BC)
  • Master’s degree in Music Therapy required
  • Ability to develop and implement innovative music therapy interventions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of diverse music genres and cultures
  • Ability to work collaboratively with clients, caregivers, and staff
  • Experience working with neurodivergent and cognitively and developmentally disabled teens and adults preferred 
  • PASA preferred




Salary

$30 - $35 per hour
