Position Summary

We are seeking a compassionate, dependable, and responsible Personal Care Assistant (PCA) to provide high-quality, person-centered support to individuals with disabilities in their homes and community settings.

The PCA will assist clients with daily living activities, personal care, mobility, household tasks, and other support needs while promoting dignity, independence, safety, and quality of life.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide respectful and compassionate personal care and daily living assistance.
  • Assist clients with bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and other personal-care needs as authorized.
  • Support clients with mobility, transfers, positioning, and safe movement.
  • Assist with meal preparation, feeding, and maintaining appropriate nutrition and hydration.
  • Provide light housekeeping and laundry related to the client's care and living environment.
  • Assist with medication reminders as permitted by the individual's care plan and applicable regulations.
  • Accompany and support clients during appointments, community activities, and other approved outings.
  • Encourage independence and participation in activities of daily living.
  • Follow each individual's person-centered service plan and care instructions.
  • Monitor and report changes in the client's condition, behavior, or needs to the appropriate supervisor.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services provided.
  • Protect client confidentiality and respect each individual's privacy, choices, and rights.
  • Follow all agency policies, health and safety requirements, and applicable state regulations.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and supportive environment for clients.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous experience as a PCA, caregiver, direct support professional (DSP), home health aide, or similar rolepreferred.
  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities is highly preferred.
  • Compassionate, patient, dependable, and respectful.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and care team members.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and individual care plans.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks associated with client care, including assisting with mobility and transfers when required.
  • Must be able to pass required background checks and meet applicable employment requirements.
  • Reliable transportation may be required depending on the client's location and assigned duties.
