Personal Care Associate (Caregiver)

About the Role

At Embrace Home Care, our Personal Care Associates help people remain safe, comfortable, and independent in the place they want to be most—their own home.

You will provide hands-on personal care, companionship, household support, and safety supervision based on each client’s individualized Plan of Care. You will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and serve as an important set of eyes and ears for clients, families, and the Embrace care team.

What You’ll Do

  • Assist with bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, continence care, and eating.
  • Support safe walking, transfers, positioning, and mobility.
  • Prepare meals and assist with hydration.
  • Provide light housekeeping, laundry, grocery shopping, and authorized errands.
  • Offer meaningful companionship, conversation, emotional support, and respite for family caregivers.
  • Observe clients and their home environments for changes or safety concerns.
  • Promptly report changes in condition, incidents, or concerns to the Embrace care team.
  • Complete accurate and timely visit documentation.
  • Protect each client’s privacy, dignity, preferences, and confidential information.
  • Follow the client’s Plan of Care, agency policies, and emergency procedures.
  • Perform only authorized personal-care services; this role does not perform skilled nursing procedures or administer medications.

Required Qualifications

  • Compassionate, dependable, and respectful approach to caregiving.
  • Ability to follow care instructions and an individualized Plan of Care.
  • Ability to safely provide assigned personal-care and household-support services.
  • Strong communication skills with clients, families, and team members.
  • Ability to recognize and report changes in a client’s condition or environment.
  • Reliable transportation and the ability to travel to assigned client homes.
  • Successful completion of required background screening.
  • Completion of Embrace orientation, training, and competency validation.

Preferred Experience

  • Previous professional or family caregiving experience.
  • Certified Nursing Assistant experience or certification.
  • Home Health Aide or personal-care experience.
  • Experience supporting older adults or individuals who need assistance at home.

Schedule and Work Environment

Full-time, part-time, and PRN opportunities may be available. Schedules vary based on client needs and may include daytime, evening, weekend, or holiday assignments. This is a field-based position requiring local travel throughout the Oklahoma service area.

The role includes standing, walking, bending, reaching, and assisting with mobility, positioning, and transfers. Team members must be able to lift up to 50 pounds with assistance when required by the client’s Plan of Care, with or without reasonable accommodation.
