POSITION SUMMARY 

The Cultivation Technician I (Tech I) carries out day-to-day plant maintenance tasks and auxiliary cultivation duties to ensure uniform health and quality among all production batches. The Tech I has overall responsibility to follow the task schedule and current SOPs; maintain a commitment to organized and hygienic practices; and contribute to a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement (CI).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND SKILLS 

  1. Two years of experience in horticultural production or production in a regulated field for human consumption. 
  2. Or, any satisfactory combination of experience and training which clearly demonstrates the ability to perform the Duties below.  
  3. A working knowledge, background or scholastic interest in any of the following: 
  4. Floriculture, Horticulture, Plant Science; 
  5. Agriculture / Farm Operations; 
  6. Landscape Maintenance, Installation; 
  7. Chemistry, Biology, Botany, Plant Physiology, Biochemistry, Entomology; 
  8. METRC / Canix / BioTrack (Cannabis Tracking Systems).  
  9. Active Arizona Department of Health Services Facility Agent card. 
  10. Commitment to uniformity of production standards, following established protocols and contributing to the continual improvement of internal procedures and principles. 
  11. Effective time-management skills and ability to multi-task. 
  12. Ability to stand, sit, kneel, or crouch for extended periods of time. 
  13. Ability to lift supplies, equipment or products weighing up to 50 lbs on a regular basis.  
  14. Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing and challenging environment.  
  15. Proficiency in Microsoft Windows-based software.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES 

  1. Maintain a general commitment to Lean manufacturing principles, especially ‘Kaizen’; I.e., continuous incremental improvement. 
  2. Present a professional image by maintaining overall facility cleanliness, tidiness and organization according to BMPs in horticultural production, food safety and industrial hygiene.

Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Consistent efficiency and quality of work. Accurate data entry and record keeping. Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing and challenging environment. Ability to make decisions as necessary with oversight when needed. Proficiency in Microsoft Windows-based software and Internet navigation. 

 

JOB SCOPE 

Operates with direct supervision from Head Grower and/or Assistant Grower. Follows established policies and procedures, contributes to the development of new concepts, policies and procedures as necessary to perform job duties and tasks.
