The Staff Accountant plays a critical role in supporting the financial operations of Elite Truck by ensuring accurate and timely accounting processes that enable effective business decision-making. This position works cross-functionally with departments including Sales, Operations, Customer Support, and Leadership to maintain financial integrity and provide actionable insights that support operational performance. Operating within a fast-paced, scaling environment, the Staff Accountant is expected to function as a self-starter who executes with a high level of ownership and accountability. This role supports the Controller in translating financial data into meaningful insights that align with company priorities, departmental goals, and organizational “Rocks” established by Leadership and the Operations Director.

Description

Essential Functions

  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Perform general ledger reconciliations and ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timelines align with operational reporting needs
  • Maintain and reconcile balance sheet and income statement accounts with a focus on accuracy and usability for leadership review
  • Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes as needed to support operational continuity
  • Partner with cross-functional departments to ensure accurate financial reporting, expense tracking, and alignment with budgets
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis tied to departmental performance and company goals
  • Provide timely and accurate financial insights to support operational decision-making
  • Identify and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency, scalability, and cross-departmental alignment
  • Support audits by preparing schedules, documentation, and responding to auditor requests
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, GAAP standards, and internal controls
  • Execute responsibilities independently while remaining aligned with Controller direction, company priorities, and operational initiatives
  • Support ad hoc financial analysis and reporting tied to leadership initiatives and company “Rocks”


Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 3–5 years of accounting experience (public or private)
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting


Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  • Experience in e-commerce or a scaling organization preferred
  • Familiarity with Quickbooks
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and financial reporting tools
