What you will do
- Perform QA/QC review of structured cabling, pathways, backbone and horizontal fiber and copper, MDA/IDA/HDA and MMR/MDF/IDF layouts, outside plant and campus fiber.
- Review physical security design: access control, CCTV and intrusion detection.
- Check conformance to TIA-942-C, BICSI 002, ANSI/TIA-606 and tenant standards.
- Issue comments, markups and recommendations as RFIs and bulletins in Procore, framed as recommendations to the Engineer of Record.
- Confirm fiber types and quantities early so long-lead material can be ordered on schedule.
- Build and maintain the bill of material and long-lead register from the design set.
- Support bid leveling with technical comparison of manufacturer submittals and alternates.
- Attend weekly design coordination calls with the Engineer of Record, general contractor and owner.
- Acknowledge every request the same business day and answer design questions within 2 to 3 business days.
What you bring
- Current BICSI RCDD credential (required).
- 8+ years of low voltage or ICT design, including 3+ on data centers of 20 MW or larger.
- Working command of TIA-942, TIA-568, TIA-569, TIA-606, TIA-607 and BICSI 002.
- High-density fiber design experience: trunk and cassette architectures, MPO/MTP polarity, loss budgets, pathway fill.
- Fluent in Bluebeam Revu and Procore; able to read Revit and AutoCAD models.
- Clear, brief technical writing.
Preferred
- BICSI DCDC or OSP credential.
- Experience with GPU cluster fabrics and liquid-cooled hall layouts.
- Prior owner's-rep or design-assist role.
Location and travel
Remote (US), with periodic travel to the project site in Mason County, West Virginia. Travel and lodging covered per EIG policy.
