The Service Provider plays a key role in ensuring that families and guests receive an exceptional and meaningful experience during funerals, memorials, gatherings, and celebrations of life. This role supports Funeral Directors and Event Center Manager by assisting with guest services, event setup, logistics, and behind-the-scenes details, allowing the directors to focus fully on family care.
• Ensures a welcoming, professional, and compassionate environment that reflects the values of our funeral home.
• Provide a warm and professional first impression to families and guests with respect and dignity.
• Open doors, greet attendees, distribute memorial folders, and assist with seating.
• Prepare venues (chapel, event center, graveside, or other facilities) for services.
• Transport and stage flowers, stands, and other memorial items and/or Deliver flowers to final destinations after services.
• Assist with casket or urn placement under the direction of the funeral director, Event Center manager, or Event Coordinator.
• Operate visual and audio equipment for events.
• Perform tear-down and clean-up following services and gatherings.
• Assist with errands, projects, and cleaning tasks.
• Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Event Center Manager or Event Coordinator to support operational needs and evolving departmental requirements.
• Ability to independently lift, maneuver, and transport 75 pounds while adhering to proper lifting techniques and requesting assistance when appropriate to ensure safety.
• Ability to follow all departmental safety practices, protocols, and regulatory standards.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
• Must meet organizational and insurance‑carrier driving record standards.
• Must successfully pass a background check.
• Current Benton/Franklin Health District Food Handler card
• MAST permit (optional)
• Two years of customer service, event support, or related experience preferred.
• Must possess a compatible smartphone capable of supporting required applications and communication tools.
• Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English to perform essential job functions.
The work environment for this position will be a variety of environments, including indoor commercial buildings, as well as outdoor locations. You will be exposed to dust, noise, cleaning agents, and other related equipment.
This position involves regular exposure to sensitive and emotional situations, requiring professionalism, composure, and respectful communication always. The employee may be exposed to biohazardous materials and must adhere strictly to all organizational safety protocols, OSHA guidelines, and infection‑control procedures.
The nature of on‑call work may require irregular or extended hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, depending on organizational needs and call volume.
This role may require out-of-town services during your regular shift within a 250-mile radius of Kennewick/Richland, WA, with travel beyond this distance when scheduled. Employees should be prepared for occasional extended trips as part of their duties.
$18 - $20 per hour
