Efficiency Commissioning LLC is seeking a highly motivated Senior Commissioning Provider that will be that will be responsible for working on a variety of commissioning, recommissioning and/or other engineering design-related projects. This position will also include the supervision of selected Commissioning Providers or other related personnel as assigned to the Individual. The Senior Commissioning Provider will ensure that the project conforms to the contractual agreement the firm has made with the client, the project is completed within the allocated period of time and within the established budget. You will be working alongside a small talented technical team that focuses on providing excellent service to our wide variety of clients. This is a hybrid position offering the flexibility to work from home and a client's site, allowing you to balance focused individual work with collaborative on-site engagement.

Job Description

The essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

·      Utilize standard mechanical and electrical instruments.

·      Create, process, organize, and maintain associated documentation relating to commissioning and recommissioning duties, including written work submitted to the client.

·      Work under indirect supervision and in accordance with instructions and techniques.

·      Supervise/manage, train, and be a resource to other Commissioning Providers and other team personnel as assigned.

·      Move about the work area and travel to work-sites as needed/required.

·      Monitor project tasks to remain within budget, schedule, and scope of work.

·      Verify the A/E Design Team’s and the Owner’s design intent and design criteria to be used for commissioning.

·      Schedule the commissioning process activities and integrate them into the master project schedule as prepared and maintained by the Owner's Representative.

·      Work with the A/E Design Professionals to document the basis of design.

·      Develop a commissioning plan encompassing construction phases.

·      Complete a thorough review of the project documents.

·      Submit written comments to the Owner, the Owner's Representative, and the A/E Design Team.

·      Develop full commissioning specifications for all commissioned equipment. Coordinate this with the A/E Design Team and Owner to comply with the overall Project Manual Specifications package.

·      Coordinate, direct, and document commissioning and recommissioning activities in a logical, sequential, and efficient manner using consistent protocols, clear and regular communications and consultations with all necessary parties, updated timelines or schedules, and technical expertise.

·      Perform site visits, as necessary, to observe component and document component system installations.

·      Accomplish a statistical review of construction focusing on the Owner's design intent and quality requirements. Attend selected construction progress and Pre-installation job-site meetings to obtain information on construction progress. Review construction progress meeting minutes for revisions/substitutions related to the Owner's design intent. Assist in resolving any discrepancies.

·      Organize, conduct, and document periodic commissioning/recommissioning team meetings to plan, develop the scope, coordinate, schedule activities, and resolve problems.

·      Review submittals of systems to be commissioned, concurrent with the A/E Design Professional's review.

·      Approve systems startup by reviewing start-up reports and selected site observations.

·      Recommend approval of air and water systems balancing through statistical sampling of the report and separate field verification.

·      Maintain a Issues Log and a separate testing record. Provide to the Contractor, the A/E Design Team, the Owner, and the Owner's Representative written progress reports and test results with recommended actions.

·      Review, recommend pre-approval, and verify the training proposed by the Contractors for compliance with the Project requirements.

·      Conduct functional performance testing of sub-systems, systems, and interactions between systems, leading to acceptance of the completed Work. Document results of all tests witnessed.

·      Document Energy Conservation Opportunities (ECOs) for recommissioning projects.

·      Perform energy calculations and simple payback calculations on identified ECOs.

 ·      Coordinate and organize the training of the Owner's O & M personnel.

·      Prepare and submit a final Commissioning/Recommissioning Report to the Owner.

·     Conduct customer satisfaction surveys.

·     Compile a systems manual. 

·     Walk-through with field balancing personnel to confirm proper TAB work.

·     Develop and deliver training to facility personnel related to building systems as assigned.

·     Create mechanical system drawings/diagrams.

·      Work with BAS control systems.

·       Perform other work-related duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

·      High School Diploma or GED required

·      Associate’s degree in mechanical, Electrical, or HVAC or similar experience with 12+ years of building systems experience (mechanical/electrical/plumbing) OR Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 8+ years of experience and a Professional Engineer License

·      Comprehensive knowledge of building automation systems, including but not limited to: Johnson Controls Metasys, Siemens, Automated Logic, Alerton, Niagara, etc.

·      Ability to manage projects independently/with limited supervision

·      Knowledgeable and skilled in the use of standard mechanical and electrical instruments

·      Ability to read engineering drawings, specifications, and inspection instructions

·      Ability to follow written instructions and techniques

·      Good basic mathematical aptitude required

·      Commissioning certification preferred

·      Understanding of appropriate design and local codes, procedures, and protocols required

·      Ability to use computer systems for effectively managing projects required

·      Capable of managing multiple projects/project teams

·      Ability to leverage the following skills: communications, planning and organization, decision making, problem solving, job knowledge, leadership, and judgement

·      Must be able to communicate effectively with a variety of individuals/parties and respond to inquiries

·      Ability to work independently with limited supervision and direction
