Senior Executive Assistant to C-Suite Efferent Labs, Inc. Charleston, SC (local candidates strongly preferred)
We are a MedTech company in Charleston developing breakthrough biosensor technologies to transform diagnostics, monitoring, and patient care. We are seeking a highly organized, proactive, and discreet Senior Executive Assistant to provide high-level support to the CEO and other C-suite executives. This is a ground-floor opportunity to serve as a strategic partner in a fast-paced environment, helping to scale operations, maintain focus on key priorities, and support the journey from R&D through regulatory milestones toward commercialization.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage complex calendars, schedule high-priority meetings, coordinate travel arrangements, and prepare expense reports for the CEO and C-suite team.
- Draft correspondence, create presentations, agendas, reports, and materials for board meetings, investor updates, regulatory interactions, and internal leadership sessions.
- Handle sensitive and confidential information with the highest level of discretion (including IP, clinical, regulatory, and strategic matters).
- Act as a liaison with the board, senior team, external partners, and stakeholders; screen communications and prioritize incoming requests.
- Support special projects, track priorities or key initiatives, assist with office operations, vendor coordination, and limited hiring/onboarding activities as the company grows.
- Anticipate needs, conduct research, resolve scheduling conflicts, and proactively solve problems to maximize executive efficiency in a dynamic startup setting.
- Be responsive outside normal business hours when business needs arise.
Qualifications
- 5–8+ years of senior-level administrative experience directly supporting C-suite executives (CEO support strongly preferred), ideally in a startup, medtech, biotech, life sciences, or other regulated industry.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, written and verbal communication, emotional intelligence, and sound judgment.
- Demonstrated ability to handle ambiguity, manage multiple priorities, maintain confidentiality, and thrive in a fast-paced, resource-constrained environment.
- Proactive “chief of staff lite” mindset with strong business acumen; previous exposure to board/investor support, project coordination, or regulatory environments is a plus.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. and based in or willing to work in the Charleston, SC area.
$65,000 - $85,000 per year
