EdOdyssey is seeking a Japan Regional Manager (Contractor) to lead the design, coordination, and delivery of high-quality educational travel programs across Japan. This flexible, part-time role combines program development, vendor and budget management, and on-the-ground student leadership. The Japan Regional Manager will collaborate closely with EdOdyssey’s Program Operations team and school partners to create culturally grounded, safe, and meaningful learning experiences for students. In addition to overseeing logistics and partnerships throughout Japan, this individual will serve as a Program Leader for select programs and recruit and prepare additional leaders as needed. This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced educational travel professional based in Japan who is passionate about cross-cultural exchange, strong operational execution, and delivering transformative student experiences.

EdOdyssey is seeking an experienced Japan Regional Manager to join our global team and support the design, preparation, and delivery of high-quality educational travel programs throughout Japan.
This flexible contract role blends program design, vendor coordination, and on-the-ground leadership. The ideal candidate will be deeply familiar with Japan and passionate about creating meaningful, culturally grounded, and safe learning experiences for students from the United States (or other international contexts).
The Japan Regional Manager will collaborate closely with EdOdyssey’s Program Operations Manager, Program Operations team, and school partners to develop, coordinate, and lead programs that bring Japanese culture, history, and contemporary life to students in authentic and engaging ways.
The Japan Regional Manager will also serve as Program Leader for short-term programs, providing group leadership, logistical management, and educational support in-country.
When the Japan Regional Manager is not available to serve as Program Leader, they will be responsible for recruiting, hiring, and preparing additional Program Leaders to support Japan programs, ensuring consistent program quality, safety, and alignment with organizational values.
Key responsibilities include:
Compensation will be commensurate with experience and services provided, with flexibility for either a flat project rate or hourly structure depending on scope and timing. All travel-related expenses (accommodations, meals, in-country transportation, and program activity fees) will be covered during program delivery periods.
