Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated VMWare Systems Administrator to join our dynamic team at eDesign House LLC. As a VMWare Systems Administrator, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and supporting our multi-site environments, ensuring the smooth operation of our virtualized infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with VMWare vSphere, VMware Horizon VDI, and Microsoft Windows golden images. Additionally, an active TS/SCI & Poly Clearance is required for this position.


Responsibilities:

- Provide support for multi-site environments, including managing and maintaining VMWare vSphere (vCenter and ESXi).

- Support a geographically dispersed enterprise by managing and troubleshooting VMware Horizon VDI, including a mix of persistent and instant clone desktops.

- Create and maintain Microsoft Windows golden images for deployment across the organization.

- Utilize HP thin clients and HP Device Manager (HPDM) to ensure efficient and secure desktop virtualization.

- Implement and troubleshoot VMware App Volume for application capturing and troubleshooting.

- Manage and maintain VMware Unified Access Gateway for secure remote access.

- Perform capacity planning for geographically distributed enterprise-level systems.

- Convert customer requirements into technical plans and implement solutions accordingly.

- Demonstrate expertise in the full life cycle of system development.

- Work with PKI certificates and keys to ensure secure communication and authentication.

- Administer and maintain Atlassian applications and plugins using Data Center, including Jira Service Management, Jira Software, Confluence, Bitbucket, Bamboo, Fisheye/Crucible, Crowd, and Insight/Assets.

- Gather and translate business requirements into Jira projects and dashboards.

- Adapt to new situations and priorities, ensuring flexibility and agility in delivering solutions.

- Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders throughout the organization.

- Utilize agile software development processes to drive efficient and effective collaboration.

- Use Linux for application upgrades and troubleshoot service disruptions.

- Enhance automation of Jira projects using JavaScript.

- Demonstrate strong troubleshooting skills in Linux and Puppet.


Requirements:

- Demonstrated experience with VMware vSphere (vCenter and ESXi) in supporting multi-site environments.

- Extensive experience with VMware Horizon VDI in supporting a geographically dispersed enterprise with a mix of persistent and instant clone desktops.

- Proven ability to create and maintain Microsoft Windows golden images.

- Strong familiarity with HP thin clients and HP Device Manager (HPDM).

- Experience with VMware App Volume, including application capturing and troubleshooting.

- Proficiency in managing and maintaining VMware Unified Access Gateway.

- Solid capacity planning skills for geographically distributed enterprise-level systems.

- Ability to convert customer requirements into technical plans and execute accordingly.

- Comprehensive knowledge of PKI certificates and keys.

- Expertise in maintaining the health, scalability, manageability, and security of Atlassian applications and plugins using Data Center.

- Proficiency in administering Jira Service Management, Jira Software, Confluence, Bitbucket, Bamboo, Fisheye/Crucible, Crowd, and Insight/Assets.

- Experience in gathering and translating business requirements into Jira projects and dashboards.

- Strong adaptability to new situations and shifting priorities.

- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

- Familiarity with agile software development processes.

- Ability to utilize Linux for application upgrades and troubleshoot service disruptions.

- Proficiency in using JavaScript to enhance automation of Jira projects.

- Strong troubleshooting skills in Linux and Puppet.
