The Bookkeeper is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring the company’s financial operations run smoothly. This role involves recording day-to-day financial transactions, reconciling accounts, and supporting the finance or accounting team with essential bookkeeping functions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Record and categorize daily financial transactions in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, NetSuite).
- Reconcile bank and credit card statements monthly.
- Process accounts payable and receivable, including invoicing and billing follow-up.
- Prepare financial reports, such as balance sheets and income statements.
- Monitor cash flow and assist in budget preparation.
- Maintain and update general ledger accounts.
- Prepare and file tax documents such as sales tax returns.
- Support payroll processing and benefits tracking (if applicable).
- Assist with audits and year-end closing procedures.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar financial role.
- Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Sage).
- Strong understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and act with integrity.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
