Description

About Eastside Academy

Founded in 2002 by a group of teachers who believed a different approach to education was possible, Eastside Academy is a therapeutic high school that was created as a refuge and place of growth for high school students who may not fit the mold of traditional schools. Through a unique blend of individualized attention and support in the classroom with comprehensive counseling and addiction recovery programs, we provide a safe community for students where they can begin the process of healing and restoration. We believe that every student deserves a second chance and provide a safe community where students can be known. For those students who feel overlooked, misunderstood, or out of place, we offer a warm and welcoming community that embraces everyone for who they are. By facilitating meaningful connections with peers, mentors, and teachers, we work together to create an uplifting environment where growth and change are possible. Each of our staff members plays a meaningful role in our students' transformational work. Every day is different, yet we walk away knowing that we've made a difference.

About the Role

The Admissions Specialist is the first face our students see when being introduced to Eastside Academy. Each of our students comes to us with their own set of challenges and problems, unsure of their next steps and facing a dismal future. The Admission Specialist will guide prospective families and students through the admissions process with care and persistence. By working across departments, the admissions specialist will coordinate a student's admissions assessment with the Head of Counseling and Education Team. They will facilitate family tours and the ability to answer the questions families have about Eastside Academy. They will help families submit applications, obtain and submit the proper documentation of transcripts, medical records, and case worker files; all with care and persistence. As a school with open-enrollment, every month we work to admit more students into our community to receive the care and support they need for a better and brighter future.
