Eastern PA Trans Equity Project (EPTEP) is a 501c3 nonprofit with a mission of empowering transgender people while building community and advocating for social justice. EPTEP’s key focus areas include: • Supportive Services: Peer-led Community Groups, Info/Referral Line, Mentoring and Case Management to help people obtain the resources they need. • Basic Needs Assistance: Financial assistance for rent, food, utilities, transportation, and medicines to help people maintain their ability to go to work or school • Empowerment Programs: Legal Name Change Assistance, Educational Scholarships, and other programming designed to help transgender people obtain the tools they need to thrive in the long term • Advocacy & Action: Activating the LGBTQ+ community to work across all levels of government to ensure their rights are protected, issue advocacy, and work on behalf of individuals facing discrimination • Education and Training: for Medical Providers, Social Service Agencies, Companies, and Government Agencies so they can provide culturally competent services to the transgender community.

Description


The Executive Director must be a passionate and collaborative individual who will lead our growing nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering transgender individuals through direct support, advocacy, education, and community-building. EPTEP provides critical services including peer-led support programs, financial assistance for basic needs, legal name change support, workforce development initiatives, and advocacy efforts across Pennsylvania.


This is a remote position, but the selected candidate must reside in Eastern or Central Pennsylvania. The role requires regular travel and availability for evening and weekend work as needed.


This role is ideal for a mission-driven leader who enjoys building relationships, supporting teams, and helping an organization grow sustainably while staying rooted in community impact.


What You’ll Do

● Lead the organization’s strategic and operational direction, including developing and executing long term strategic roadmap, planning for financial sustainability, and driving initiatives that strengthen and grow EPTEP’s impact.

● Support and mentor staff while fostering an inclusive and collaborative workplace culture.

● Lead fundraising and donor engagement efforts.

● Oversee financial stewardship, budgeting, and organizational sustainability.

● Strengthen partnerships with community organizations, funders, and stakeholders.

● Serve as a visible advocate and spokesperson for EPTEP’s mission.

● Strategize, execute, and evaluate mission-aligned programs and initiatives working in a hands-on fashion with our staff and volunteers.

● Partner closely with the Board of Directors to guide organizational strategy and growth.


We’re Looking For Someone Who:

● At least five years of nonprofit leadership or comparable management experience.

● Is comfortable fundraising and building donor relationships.

● Can balance day-to-day operations with long-term planning.

● Is passionate about advancing equity and supporting transgender communities.

● Bachelor’s degree or equivalent lived or professional experience welcomed.
