Job Overview:

Earnest Agriculture is seeking a dedicated and experienced Lab Supervisor to oversee our laboratory operations. In this role, you will be responsible for managing Lab Technicians, ensuring the efficient execution of experiments, and contributing to the development of innovative probiotic consortia for sustainable agriculture. Your leadership will be critical to the success of our research efforts and the advancement of our mission.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervision and Leadership: Manage and lead the Lab Technicians, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure the successful execution of research activities.
  • Experiment Oversight: Oversee the planning, execution, and documentation of laboratory experiments, including the isolation of soil and plant-associated bacteria and plant-based pathogen trials.
  • Laboratory Management: Maintain the laboratory's organization, cleanliness, and functionality, ensuring that all equipment and supplies are readily available and that safety protocols are followed.
  • Data Management: Monitor the collection, recording, and input of research data into databases, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with the Chief Science Officer (CSO) to implement research strategies and provide regular updates on progress and findings.
  • Resource Allocation: Manage the allocation of resources, including supplies and equipment, to support the lab's operational needs.
  • Quality Control: Enforce quality control standards and best practices in all laboratory activities, ensuring the integrity and reliability of research results.
  • Flexible Participation: As necessary, actively participate in planting, harvesting, and other agricultural and laboratory tasks to contribute to the startup's objectives.


Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant scientific field, such as microbiology, biology, or agricultural science.
  • Previous experience in laboratory management or supervision, with a strong understanding of laboratory protocols and techniques.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in data management and record-keeping.
