A marine electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems on ships and other marine vessels. They work with a wide range of electrical components, such as navigation systems, communication equipment, power distribution systems, and lighting. Full job description
Required -
- 5yrs of experience working on shipboard electrical systems.
- Understands Navsea Standard items.
- Understands how to read drawings and schematics.
- Experience using a multimeter. (Continuity and IR Testing).
- Experience managing cable installation teams.
- Has the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Troubleshooting electrical systems.
- Handling and splicing fiber optic cables (plus, but not required)
- Has experience assembling connectors.
- Has required tools to perform duties.
- Can gain access to various shipyards and government installations.
- Must be able to obtain a DBIDS
- Has or can obtains a secrete clearance. (plus, but not required)
