Overview

A marine electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems on ships and other marine vessels. They work with a wide range of electrical components, such as navigation systems, communication equipment, power distribution systems, and lighting. Their expertise ensures that all electrical systems on board are functioning properly and safely at all times. Please apply if you have the required experience.


Full job description

Required -

  • 5yrs of experience working on shipboard electrical systems.
  • Understands Navsea Standard items.
  • Understands how to read drawings and schematics.
  • Experience using a multimeter. (Continuity and IR Testing).
  • Experience managing cable installation teams.
  • Has the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Troubleshooting electrical systems.
  • Handling and splicing fiber optic cables (plus, but not required)
  • Has experience assembling connectors.
  • Has required tools to perform duties.
  • Can gain access to various shipyards and government installations.
  • Must be able to obtain a DBIDS
  • Has or can obtains a secrete clearance. (plus, but not required)

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Military (plus, but not required)
