We are seeking a compassionate, dependable, and experienced Caregiver/Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide individualized support to an adult with developmental disabilities, behavioral challenges, and a seizure disorder. Description

  • Provide hands-on assistance with all Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including:
  • Bathing and personal hygiene
  • Dressing and grooming
  • Toileting and incontinence care
  • Feeding and meal assistance
  • Mobility and transfers
  • Monitor and respond appropriately to seizure activity according to established care plans and protocols.
  • Implement behavior support strategies and maintain a calm, supportive environment during behavioral episodes.
  • Assist with medication reminders and documentation as directed.
  • Support community participation, recreational activities, and social engagement.
  • Maintain accurate daily documentation of care, behaviors, seizures, and significant events.
  • Ensure the client's health, safety, and well-being at all times.
  • Perform light housekeeping related to the client's care, including laundry, meal preparation, and maintaining a clean living environment.
  • Communicate effectively with family members, supervisors, healthcare providers, and other members of the support team.


Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Experience working with individuals who have behavioral concerns and seizure disorders required.
  • Knowledge of seizure first aid and behavioral intervention techniques preferred.
  • Ability to assist with all personal care needs and physical support requirements.
  • Strong communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver's license preferred.
  • Ability to pass background checks and meet all agency/employer requirements.
  • CPR, First Aid, and Medication Administration certifications preferred (or willingness to obtain).

Salary

$15 - $16.5 per hour
