As we continue to grow, we are seeking a Senior Associate Designer / Lighting Director to join our dynamic team. If you are a passionate designer with a strong technical foundation and a creative spark, we would love to hear from you.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with lead designers to develop detailed lighting and production designs for live events, broadcasts, and special projects.
- Create and maintain highly detailed drawings in Vectorworks (2D & 3D).
- Produce compelling pre-visualizations and design presentations using Depence, Cinema 4D, Unreal or similar visualization software.
- Manage drafting packages, maintain version control, and ensure all documentation is clear, accurate, and production-ready.
- Oversee technical implementation, including fixture layouts, truss plots, cabling diagrams, and set electrics.
- Coordinate with fabrication shops, rental vendors, and production teams to ensure design intent is preserved through execution.
- Participate in onsite load-ins, rehearsals, and shows, assisting with focus, programming, followspot calling and troubleshooting as needed.
- Maintain DX7 Design’s visual and technical standards across all projects.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years professional experience in a lighting or production design environment.
- Advanced proficiency in Vectorworks (including Spotlight tools and 3D modeling).
- Strong experience with Depence, Syncronorm, or other industry-standard visualization software (WYSIWYG, Capture, Unreal, etc.).
- Solid understanding of entertainment lighting systems, rigging basics, and production workflows.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure in fast-paced environments and meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills and collaborative spirit.
- Passion for live entertainment and design innovation.
Bonus Skills (Not Required, but a Plus)
- Experience with Unreal Engine, Cinema 4D, or other 3D visualization tools.
- Knowledge of grandMA2 / grandMA3 consoles.
- Experience with scenic design integration and content driven projects.
