Position Summary

The Medical Transportation Driver is a part-time, non-exempt role reporting to the Director of Client Services. The primary mission is to provide safe, reliable, and welcoming transportation for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities to medical appointments and travel hubs such as airports, bus and train stations. The driver is expected to offer a calm, reassuring presence and help Ranchers navigate their appointments with confidence.

Key Responsibilities

• Rancher Support & Healthcare Coordination: Accompanies Ranchers to appointments, assists with communication between medical providers, the nursing team, and guardians and builds supportive rapport.
• Vehicle Safety & Operation: Performs daily pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, ensures emergency equipment is stocked, and prioritizes passenger safety and well-being.
• Documentation & Compliance: Completes and scans appointment paperwork into the internal tracking system, sends professional summaries to staff, and strictly adheres to HIPAA privacy standards.
• Reliability & Policy Alignment: Follows company policies, utilizes GPS tools for strict punctuality, and attends required briefings.

Key Requirements & Physical Demands

• Qualifications: Must be at least 21 years old with a high school diploma (or equivalent) and an excellent driving record. Standard business software, email, and GPS navigation skills are required. CPR/First Aid, Defensive Driving, or PASS training is preferred.
• Physical Expectations: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds (e.g., handling luggage) and safely push, pull, and maneuver individuals using wheelchairs or adaptive mobility equipment. Position requires frequent bending, kneeling, and extended periods of driving alertness.

Schedule & Compensation

• Schedule: Part-time, as-needed status, typically Monday through Friday. Hours are flexible and adjusted based on the specific appointment and transportation needs of the organization.
• Compensation: Paid hourly on a bi-weekly basis, with access to facility amenities.
