MAINTENANCE ASSISTANT

PART TIME; NON EXEMPT

POSITION SUMMARY The Maintenance Assistant is a non-exempt hourly part-time assistant position located in Maintenance, reporting directly to the Maintenance Manager. The Assistant completes on and off site maintenance and physical plant projects. The Assistant supports the mission of Down Home Ranch by ensuring the maintenance needs of the Ranch are completed accurately and within a reasonable amount of time. The Assistant will join with other staff in a high-level commitment to provide an excellent quality of life for the individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities served through Ranch programing. Typical work schedule is Monday through Friday 8:00am to 12:00pm; schedule and hours will be adjusted according to the needs of Down Home Ranch.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Essential Functions Statement(s)

•Implement the goals of Maintenance

•Completes maintenance request for all departments and programs; ensure all landscaping, buildings and vehicles are properlymaintained and safe

•Assesses and completes repairs to electrical, mechanical and plumbing

•Ability to work with, teach, mentor and supervise people with disabilities

•Attends staff meetings, cross functional committees, workshops and trainings

•Performs other duties and responsibilities, as assigned

REQUIREMENTS

•Minimum age of 21, excellent driving record and able to pass extensive background investigation

•Provides excellent customer service

•General knowledge of vehicle, equipment maintenance and minor repairs.

•Experience and comfortable with business software

•Team player with ability to coordinate and work closely with others

•Comfortable working closely with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities or other vulnerable populations

•Reads and complies with all policies and procedures in the Down Home Ranch Employee Handbook

•Able to write and prepare documentation and reports, as requested.

•Maintain confidentiality under requirements of the HIPAA statutes

•Ability to lift 50 pounds

•Capable of stooping, kneeling, sitting and bending

•Able to stand for long periods
