DotLab is transforming the diagnosis and management of endometriosis, a disease that affects 1 in 10 women worldwide and currently requires surgery to diagnose. The disease is the cause of over half of unexplained infertility, and is a primary source of pelvic pain.

Description

DotLab, a personalized medicine company focused on women’s health, is looking for a Grant Writer to lead the preparation and submission of grant proposals to NIH and other government agencies. This role involves working closely with our scientific team to develop high-quality, scientifically accurate grant applications that align with our product roadmap and technical focus.


Responsibilities:


  • Identify and match granting agencies' research needs with DotLab’s product roadmap and technical focus.
  • Conduct literature and product searches to assess novel advancements and their relevance to DotLab’s research objectives.
  • Collaborate with technical and business staff to develop and transform ideas into compelling grant proposals.
  • Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date knowledge of platform technological advances and relevant market areas to identify and solicit grants.
  • Manage multiple deadlines and deliverables for various grant proposals concurrently.
  • Conceptualize and execute high-quality, cogent, and clear written applications, translating complex scientific content into terms that appeal to both expert and general scientific reviewers.
  • Assist with assembling scientific documents for each grant, including large institutional grants, annual reports, and progress reports for awarded grants.


Requirements:


  • PhD preferred; Master's degree in biology, biochemistry, biomedical engineering, or other life sciences required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of scientific writing experience, preferably in a healthcare, research, or academic environment.
  • Proven experience in writing grants, including NIH SBIR proposals or other funding mechanisms.
  • Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to perform literature searches and critically evaluate scientific content.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with a strong command of the English language.
  • Ability to work autonomously, manage multiple concurrent projects, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
