Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Escrow Officer to join our financial services team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of mortgage transactions, escrow procedures, and related regulations. This role requires excellent organizational skills, proficiency in math and data entry, and familiarity with industry standards such as FNMA, TILA, and Fair Housing regulations. As an Escrow Officer, you will manage the escrow process from opening to closing, ensuring compliance and accuracy throughout each transaction.

Duties


  • Manage escrow accounts for real estate transactions, ensuring all documentation and funds are properly handled
  • Coordinate with lenders, real estate agents, attorneys, and clients to facilitate smooth closings
  • Review loan documents for accuracy and compliance with federal and state regulations including FNMA guidelines and TILA requirements
  • Conduct credit analysis and review underwriting documents to verify borrower eligibility
  • Prepare and review contracts, disclosures, and settlement statements in accordance with Fair Housing laws and mortgage servicing standards
  • Perform loan processing tasks such as verifying titles, ordering appraisals, and ensuring all conditions are met before closing
  • Maintain detailed records of escrow transactions using 10-key typing skills and basic math for calculations
  • Ensure adherence to banking procedures and escrow policies throughout the process
  • Assist in resolving any discrepancies or issues that arise during the escrow process

Requirements


  • Proven experience as an Escrow Officer or in a similar role within mortgage or financial services industry
  • Knowledge of FNMA guidelines, underwriting processes, loan origination, mortgage servicing, credit analysis, and loan processing
  • Familiarity with TILA regulations, contracts management, banking procedures, and Fair Housing laws
  • Strong math skills including basic calculations necessary for escrow accounting and loan analysis
  • Proficiency in 10-key typing with high accuracy for data entry tasks
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail to ensure compliance and accuracy in all transactions
  • Ability to interpret complex legal documents related to real estate transactions
  • Strong communication skills for coordinating with various stakeholders involved in the closing process
