Dordick Law Corporation, a mid-sized personal injury law firm, is seeking an experienced lien negotiator/medical records specialist to help negotiate and reduce medical liens from personal injury medical providers, private health insurance carriers, Medi-Care/Medicaid/VA, and other governmental entities. Our practice is primarily focused on catastrophic personal injury, negligence, product defect and road design. This is not a remote or hybrid position. You must be willing and able to work at our downtown Los Angeles or Riverside office.

As a lien negotiator/medical records specialist at Dordick Law, you'll be working with an exceptionally talented team of dedicated legal practitioners. Responsibilities:

  • Assemble, organize, and itemize client medical bills.
  • Request medical summaries, illustrations, and treatment plans
  • Negotiate Medpay reimbursement claims/waivers as well as sub-out attorney liens
  • Draft Lien Reduction acceptance letters
  • Identify liens from emergency medical treatment.
  • Correspond with clients and creditors over the phone and through email
  • Preform other office tasks as assigned by management

Requirements:

  • Possess a working knowledge of personal injury lien negotiation;
  • Experience working with medical bills and records
  • Strong working knowledge of various governmental healthcare provider policies and procedures for lien negotiation and resolution i.e. Medicare, Medi-Cal, Medicaid, etc.
  • Strong working knowledge of industry practices and procedures in lien negotiation and resolution with health insurance providers, private healthcare providers, and hospital/ER/EMS providers, generally;
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working in a Personal Injury law firm preferred;
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Outlook, Word, Excel) and other applications and/or systems (i.e., Highly organized, detail-oriented, and demonstrates a sense of urgency;
  • The right candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication skills; and
  • Spanish fluency is a plus, but not required.

This is NOT an entry-level position. Some knowledge/experience with medical records and medical liens is required. You must be punctual, detail-oriented, organized, excellent in time management and interested in building a career.

Salary

$60,000 - $75,000 per year
