Apply for Dog Groomer

Doggie Salon & Spa is dedicated to providing the very best grooming to the Dogs and their owners in the San Luis Obispo area.

The holidays are our busiest season, and we’re looking for an immediate hire of an experienced groomer to join us 2–3 days a week through the end of the year. If it’s a fit, you can stay on after the holidays: go full-time or keep a part-time schedule, whichever works for you and the book.

Why groom here

• You groom; we handle the rest. Dedicated bathers prep your dogs, and our front desk handles booking, check-in and client calls.
• A steady, booked schedule. We have a loyal client base and a membership program that keeps regulars coming back.
• Predictable hours. Tuesday–Saturday, daytime only (about 7:45am–4:30pm). No late nights.
• Preference for Thursday to Saturday hire for Part Time role
• A team that sticks together. We’re a small, supportive crew led by an experienced lead groomer.

Pay: $21–$24/hr depending on experience, plus tips.

What you’ll do

• Groom about 5-6 dogs per shift, including full grooms, breed trims, and hand-scissoring
• Handle every dog safely and calmly, including seniors, puppies and nervous dogs
• Talk with owners at pickup about the groom and when their dog should come back

What we’re looking for

• 1+ year of professional grooming experience (salon or mobile)
• Comfortable with common breed cuts and scissor work
• Available at least 2 days a week, Tuesday–Saturday, through December
• Reliable, on time, and able to keep a steady pace

Nice to have

• Grooming school certification
• Experience with doodles and other high-maintenance coats
• Interest in more hours after the holidays
