Doggie Salon & Spa Client Experience Manager San Luis Obispo, CA · Full time Company website

We take our craft seriously without taking ourselves too seriously. The groomers are talented. The clients are loyal. The dogs are (mostly) well-behaved. The salon is growing and this role is a big reason why. If you've been stuck in a front desk job where no one notices what you do, this is the opposite of that. What you do here shows up directly in our numbers and we reward it.

About Doggie Salon & Spa

Doggie Salon & Spa is dedicated to providing the very best grooming to the Dogs and their owners in the San Luis Obispo area.

Description

About the Role

Doggie Salon & Spa is a growing, membership-based grooming salon in SLO, and we need someone who brings energy, initiative, and genuine love for dogs to a role that directly drives how this business grows.

This is the most client-facing, revenue-driving position in the building. You're the first smile every client sees. You're the reason they rebook before they leave. You're the voice they hear when they call, the text they get when their pup is ready, and the person who makes them feel like this is the only place they'd ever take their dog.

And here's what makes this different: this role grows with you.

We're building toward someone who can eventually own our social media presence, local marketing strategy, and brand voice — not as a side task, but as a real, defined part of the job. If you're the kind of person who sees a great before-and-after groom photo and immediately thinks "that's an Instagram post," you're already thinking like us.

WHAT YOU'LL OWN FROM DAY ONE

The Schedule

You run the booking calendar. You fill gaps before anyone notices them. You rebook clients at checkout, chase down cancellations, and work the waitlist like it's your personal scoreboard. Every full day on the schedule started with something you did.

The Client Experience

Every check-in, every checkout, every phone call, every text. You greet clients and their dogs by name. You recommend the right add-on because you know the dog's coat, not because you're reading a script. You ask for Google reviews because you genuinely believe we earned them.

Memberships & Retention

You're the front line of our membership program. You explain the value. You handle objections. You save cancellations. You know which members are overdue and you're already reaching out before anyone asks.

Payments & Accuracy

POS reconciles every night. Tips are clean. Zero errors. You treat other people's money like it matters — because it does.

WHERE THIS ROLE GOES

Phase 1 · Months 1–6: Master the Front Desk

Own the schedule, the client experience, and the daily rhythm of the salon. Hit your KPIs. Become the person the team and clients rely on.

Phase 2 · Months 6–12: Own Social Media & Content

Take over before-and-after posts, client spotlights, Google review highlights, seasonal promotions. Creative freedom within our brand voice, plus a stipend tied to results.

Phase 3 · 12+ Months: Lead Marketing & Growth

Own the full local marketing strategy — membership campaigns, referral programs, community partnerships, email marketing. Title and comp expand to match.

This isn't a maybe. It's the plan. The person closest to our clients is the best person to tell our story.
