A Tax Manager is a senior-level professional responsible for overseeing all aspects of a company's tax compliance and tax planning activities. Description

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Tax Compliance: Oversee the preparation and review of complex tax returns, including corporate, partnership, and individual tax returns, to ensure accuracy and compliance with tax laws and regulations.
  2. Tax Planning: Develop and implement tax-efficient strategies to minimize tax liabilities, maximize tax credits, and optimize the organization's overall tax position.
  3. Team Management: Lead and manage a team of tax professionals, providing guidance, training, and mentorship to ensure their professional development.
  4. Tax Research: Stay updated on tax laws, regulations, and changes, conducting research to address complex tax issues and providing informed recommendations.
  5. Client and Stakeholder Communication: Interact with clients, senior management, and external tax authorities to provide tax advice, address inquiries, and maintain strong client relationships.
  6. Audits and Examinations: Assist with tax audits and examinations, representing the organization, and ensuring compliance with tax regulations.
  7. Transfer Pricing: Manage transfer pricing policies and documentation to align with global tax regulations, optimizing intercompany transactions.
  8. Tax Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial statements and tax provisions, ensuring accurate financial reporting in compliance with accounting standards.
  9. Tax Compliance Review: Conduct internal reviews and assessments to ensure the organization's compliance with all tax laws and regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Education: A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is required. A master's degree or CPA certification is required.
  • Experience: Several years of progressive experience in tax accounting, including managerial roles. Extensive knowledge of tax laws and regulations is essential.
  • Tax Expertise: In-depth understanding of federal, state, and international tax laws, including expertise in specific areas such as corporate taxation, transfer pricing, and tax planning.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and team management skills to lead and mentor a team of tax professionals.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for client interactions and effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex tax issues and develop strategic tax plans.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficiency in tax software, financial software, and accounting tools.


Salary

$90,000 - $125,000 per year
