Position Summary
A DMR Adventures Intern is an important part of our team and a valued member of our staff community. In this role, you’ll gain hands-on experience supporting both the creative and operational sides of our theatre productions and summer camp programs.
Interns play a meaningful role in bringing productions to life—helping behind the scenes, supporting young performers, and contributing to the day-to-day efforts that keep everything running smoothly. This position is ideal for individuals who are excited to learn, collaborate, and be part of a fast-paced, creative environment.
Position Overview
In this role, you’ll support both production and administrative functions at DMR Adventures, assisting with theatre productions and summer camp activities. This is a hands-on opportunity to learn how creative ideas come together from planning to performance in a dynamic performing arts setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide production support for rehearsals, performances, and related activities
- Assist with administrative tasks related to theatre operations and summer programming
- Support student performers, teaching artists, and production staff as needed
- Help with setup, breakdown, and general coordination of activities and events
- Perform other duties as needed and as assigned to support the success of DMR programs
Intern Expectations & Commitments
- Commit to providing both production and administrative support throughout the internship period
- Communicate any schedule conflicts in advance when committing to a program
- Maintain flexibility, as time commitments may increase based on production or operational needs
- When assigned to a production, attend all scheduled rehearsals and performances
- During productions, serve in a backstage role as assigned
Work Schedule & Availability
This position operates on a flexible, as-needed schedule based on programming demands.
- Work schedules will vary and may include mornings, evenings, and weekends
- Interns are expected to be available to support operations across a seven (7) day work week, as needed
- Weekly hours are expected to average no more than 40 hours during active program periods
- Due to the nature of this role, flexibility, reliability, and responsiveness are essential
Ideal Candidate
- Interest in theatre production, arts administration, or working with youth in performing arts
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work with children of various ages and grades
- Ability to adapt in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Willingness to take initiative and support a variety of tasks
- Dependable, organized, and responsive
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift and move light to moderate equipment (as needed)
- Comfortable working in rehearsal spaces, performance venues, and office environments
