Position Live-In Caregiver Location Divinity Care Home Schedule 24-hour live-in shift with an eight-hour designated sleep period

POSITION SUMMARY Divinity Care Home is seeking a dependable, compassionate, and experienced Live-In Caregiver to provide continuous support and supervision to residents in a warm, home-like environment. The caregiver will remain in the home for the full 24-hour shift and will receive an eight-hour designated sleep period, provided resident needs and safety allow. The ideal candidate will be patient, attentive, respectful, and committed to providing person-centered care rooted in compassion, dignity, and respect.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES • Assist residents with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and other personal-care needs. • Assist with mobility, transfers, repositioning, and fall-prevention measures. • Prepare and serve meals and assist residents with eating when needed. • Provide medication reminders or medication assistance as permitted by training and applicable regulations. • Monitor residents for changes in behavior, health, mobility, appetite, or overall condition. • Provide companionship, conversation, reassurance, and meaningful activities. • Support residents living with dementia by using calm communication, redirection, and person-centered approaches. • Complete light housekeeping, laundry, meal preparation, and cleaning related to resident care. • Maintain a clean, safe, comfortable, and organized home environment. • Complete required care notes, shift documentation, incident reports, and medication records. • Communicate concerns and changes promptly to the administrator, supervisor, family, or healthcare provider as directed. • Respond appropriately to emergencies and follow all safety and emergency procedures. • Protect resident privacy and maintain confidentiality. SLEEP AND OVERNIGHT RESPONSIBILITIES • The caregiver will receive a designated eight-hour sleep period during the 24-hour shift. • A private or suitable sleeping area will be provided. • The caregiver must remain in the home throughout the entire shift. • The caregiver must be available to respond if a resident requires assistance during the night. • All sleep interruptions and care provided overnight must be accurately documented. • Overnight interruptions and work time will be handled and compensated in accordance with applicable wage-and-hour requirements. • The sleep period may be adjusted when resident safety or care needs require additional support.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Previous caregiving, assisted-living, memory-care, home-care, or healthcare experience preferred. • Experience caring for individuals living with dementia is strongly preferred. • Must be at least 18 years old. • Current CPR and First Aid certification preferred or required upon hire. • Ability to pass all required background checks. • Ability to safely assist with transfers, repositioning, and mobility. • Must be dependable, patient, compassionate, and able to remain calm during emergencies. • Must communicate professionally with residents, families, coworkers, and healthcare providers. • Must be able to read, write, and accurately complete care documentation. • Must be willing and able to remain in the home for the entire 24-hour shift.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS The caregiver must be able to stand, walk, bend, reach, push, pull, and assist residents with mobility and personal care. The caregiver must also be able to lift or assist with the amount required for assigned residents, using proper equipment and techniques.
