Divine Events is seeking an Event Sales Manager for YWCA’s Phyllis Wheatley Heritage Center (PWHC) with event sales and planning experience. The ideal candidate must possess a passion for excellent customer service and hospitality.
This position is initially part time with the opportunity for full time.
Responsibilities:
● Proactively reach out to potential clients and promote the venue for corporate events, with a focus on achieving sales goals
● Manage onsite meetings, seminars, wedding receptions, holiday parties, and other events
● Effectively showcase and market the venue to prospective clients to drive sales
● Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to maximize sales opportunities
● Engage with hosts during events to ensure their satisfaction and potentially upsell additional services
● Respond promptly to emails and phone calls to secure bookings and meet sales targets
● Assist with online advertising efforts for PWHC on various digital platforms to generate leads
● Collaborate with team members and contribute to a positive work environment to achieve sales objectives
● Prepare and send customized proposals to clients based on their needs and budget, aiming to close sales
● Follow up with clients to ensure their needs are met and potentially secure repeat business
● Participate in meetings and communicate facility requirements through work orders to support successful events
● Assist with any additional tasks as needed to drive sales and enhance the customer experience
● Maintain cleanliness and organization in the Venue Office to present a professional image to clients
● Manage incoming and outgoing orders and documentation efficiently to streamline sales processes
● Support marketing events like wedding shows, trade shows, and charity events to increase brand awareness and attract new clients
Required Skills:
● Previous sales experience is essential, with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals
● Exceptional customer service skills with a focus on driving revenue through client interactions
● Strong verbal and written communication abilities to effectively promote the venue and close sales
● Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, and Google Workspace to track sales progress and manage client relationships
● Effective problem-solving skills to overcome objections and secure bookings
● Excellent organizational and time management abilities to prioritize sales tasks and meet deadlines
● Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced sales environment
● Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment to achieve sales targets

● Adhere to company policies and procedures to ensure compliance and ethical business practices
Preferred Qualifications:
● Reliable transportation to attend client meetings and events
● High School diploma or equivalent
● Passion and enthusiasm for the industry to drive sales and exceed goals
● Prior experience in sales, particularly in the event or hospitality industry
● Strong people management, communication, and listening skills to build rapport with clients
● Demonstrated time management and organizational abilities to maximize sales opportunities

● Flexibility to work varied schedules, including weekends and holidays to accommodate client events and maximize sales potential.
